Messages- since 2.1 update

First of all I apologize if this has already been asked. I tried the search and couldn't find exactly what I was looking for... Anyways, since I updated to 2.1, whenever I receive a sms message from someone in my contact list it shows the person's number instead of their name. I'm using the stock "Messages" app. It showed the person's name before the update, and I can't figure out what I need to do to change it back. Anybody know what I need to do to change this?... have you re-synced your contacts? I believe the stock msg app pulls the name from the contacts in your phone.

Yes. I had to re-sync to retrieve some of my contacts that weren't showing up, but that didn't have any effect on my messages. I don't know what else to try. I appreciate you responding to help though.
