Text messaging not closing

Hi everyone,
This is my first post here. My problem started around 2 months ago. I cannot close the text messaging app. No matter what I did, no way to close it. By the way, I do not want to factory reset the phone. Any help will be appreciated.

You cannot hit the "back" button to close it? Or hit the home button to exit the app? Or by "closing the app" do you mean "kill" the app?

Thanks for the prompt reply. It looks a good replacement, but I also want to close that one that's stubborn. It's bugging me like hell.

Wow, that's odd indeed! How do you exit the app now? Reboot the phone?
Maybe try to go into the application manager, scroll down to the messaging app, clear the cache/data (in the storage option) and go back into it. Just be aware it may wipe out your messages and settings you have, but worth a shot.

That's done many times, nothing. I can exit the app just by hitting the home button, but I cannot close it.

Hmm, when you hit the "back" button, does it close other apps? I mean, is the messaging app the only app with the issue?

Perhaps check if you have the messaging app pinned:
Settings > general >security > advanced settings >Screen Pin.
