Last week I bought a new phone. There was nothing wrong with the old one, but based on how I now use my phone, I felt that having a larger screen would be nice. It is!

The new phone, a Motorola One Hyper, has a full inch on the old one, a Moto Z² Force--and it's all-screen, so the difference is dramatic. Look at these comparison shots:

So who's the Einstein that said size doesn't matter?!

That cat looks remarkably like my late Benjamen.
I know. We've discussed that before. :)

That's my oft-mentioned bundle of joy, Joy Noelle. She came into my life at ≈5 weeks old, on November 22, 2004. I love rescuing dogs and cats, but having zillions of them over the years--and choosing distinctive names for each one, like my last two Great Danes, Freddie Mercury and Queen--makes it hard to come up with new names.

So at her first visit to my vet, they put 'Kitten [my last name]' as her name, since on only her second day with me, I didn't have a name yet. Over the next few days, I kept responding to inquiries about my new kitten with, 'she's such a JOY to have around!', or I'd tell her, 'you're such a JOY to have around!' Meanwhile, I was wracking my brain trying to come up with a good name.

One day it hit me--like a ton of bricks.

That's her name. And since it was near the holidays, and I've always liked the name, I added Noelle: Joy Noelle. :D

Please post some pics of your sweet Benjamen. I'd love to see them. Tell us about him, if you'd like.

I believe that was Mrs. Einstein. ;) Albert said it was relative. :D
Good one, lunatic! :D
Nice phone, Moody. I've found that while other things may shrink with age, phones need to grow.
I'm loving it. Its screen is oh-so-much-better for these tired old eyes, yet it's not a phablet, you know? It's comfortable to hold--not like a brick!

Going to be contrary, but I find the opposite: my antipathy to large phones is the thing that grows, to the extent that being narrower than my current Pixel 2 is almost a requirement for me.

Maybe it's because my fingers stiffen faster than my eyes go, so handling remains the bigger issue for me (I do use phones one-handed, and even the Pixel is impossible to reach fully across while holding securely).

That is a serious issue @Hadron for my wife who suffers from scleroderma (similar to rheumatoid arthritis) and can't straighten her fingers. She is currently using a Galaxy 10e, which she handles quite well. I, on the other hand, must have the hands of a gorilla with the dexterity of a concert pianist because to this day the ginormous Moto Nexus 6 remains my favorite phone.

Believe me, I hear you. If I couldn't comfortably hold this phone in one [my left] hand, I would've sent it back. Even with the full-enclosure case I added, it's easy to hold.

While I was trying to decide on a new phone, my main requirement was a larger screen, but I definitely did not want a phablet. This fit the bill perfectly.

All you bigphone-aphobics need to seriously consider the Galaxy Note, then. Just hold it, take out the S Pen and type, swipe or tap with surgical precision. My fingers don't like going where I tell them to: but with the S Pen, I can hit exactly what I want every time.

Almost...
But that is by definition two-handed use. That's not an issue, I can hold and use any phone in two hands, but that often isn't what I need.

But I don't want to hijack Moody's thread! ;)

You know I love thread drift! So hijack away. :)

Technically, the way I use my phone(s) is two-handed, but I don't think of it the same way as using a stylus/pen. I don't know...maybe I should?
