I have been tearing my hair out for a week now. This is what have to do every time I switch my NEW Alba 10.1 on.
1) plug into PC
2) go to settings. Scroll down to tab about 7 times [first time only] to get into developer
3) type in USB on the search bar
4) Select USB Prefrences
5) Switch from No data transfer to File transfer.

I have to go through this routenn EVERY TIME. This is a joke. Is Android 10 still in beta or something?

Okay it must be the tablet. I was not trying to blaim the android system. I thought it might be beta version. I have another issue not android. When connected to the PC, I delete lots of pictures from the alba tablet. When I brouse the pictures on the tablet they are still their not deleted.

Checking settings and about I get Android 10
Build number QP1A. 191105.004 release-keys-20201020-174900

Does this make any sence.

TA.

PS.
what happens when you do not do this? do you not get a connection? does your pc see the device? do you get an error?

When I plug it in it comes up on mycomputer as Alba10Q (Mobile phone). I was tolsd by retailer that is normal.
Clicking on this just gives me a blank windo. Traging a file onto it gets error cant transfer. I need to connect again.

It appears that it when it is connected to my PC it is adding the pictures in the folder to it's collection in the viewer. I had this on my old tablet where pictures were combined from all the folders on my tablet. Not the way I wanted it.

As for this Alba. I have had a samsung galexy tablet for over 6 years using 4.4 the only reason why I wanted this masive upgrade is because my emails don't work anymore. I use my tablet ocasionaly when I am out for emails and looking through the internet and the occasional shopping.

No downloding of videos and video streaming. No actual work on it. I have seen a resonably priced Lenovo M10 10.1in 32GB which seems to meet my needs. I should take this back and get the Lenovo M10 10.1in 32GB. And better still it has a decent USB-C connection.

hmmmmm a lenovo would be a considerable upgrade than your alba. but that 32 gigs will get used up pretty quick so don't be surprised that you run out of room quickly.....just saying.

Okay thanks for your help. I don't use much of hard memory and my PCuses less than 0.5T. I can add more memory.

Thanks for all your help.
just keep in mind that the os takes up part of that 32 gigs and not all apps will move to the sd card. so if you just keep to only surfing the net, then 32 gigs should be fine. but if you plan on installing some apps, it will get full pretty quick. my 32 gig Tab A only has a few apps and and it is already getting full.
