'Can't write to SD card' Phone restart, card unmount, both ineffective

It just happened randomly one day and nothing i've tried worked. I'm really trying to avoid having to format the whole card. I wanna make sure i use all my options before doing so. I also tried unmounting the card in safe mode--didn't work either. I'm able to copy stuff from the sd card to the internal storage but not the other way around. I also can't drag anything from my computer to the SD card.

Why not just hook the card up to a computer and copy the contents and then format the card. You can then just copy everything back to the card.

Get what you can off that card ASAP.
It is good fortune that it is giving you warning before it crashes and takes everything with it.

Replace it.

Do not trust it even after you reformat it.

It's a micro center microSD card 128GB. I just finished copying everything to my computer. Gonna try formatting now.

Yes they certainly do.
Every time you read / write to it, you take away a little bit of life each time.
Even hard drives die eventually.

Y'all, the card won't even allow itself to format lol. I tried twice after it said 'card is set up' and restarted my device only to have the original 'can't write to sd card' notification pop up again as well as all my files STILL being there..hahaha..

Yea it's time for a new one...

Or is it the device itself possibly?? God, i hope not..
