Streaming music via A2DP

Hi All,
Sorry if this has been asked before, but a quick search didn't throw anything up.
I'm having problems with streaming music to my car stereo. Everything connects ok but playback is very jumpy. I get a 1 or 2 second pause every 10 seconds or so.
I know it's not my car stereo as my iPhone streams to it seemlessly for hours on end.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks in advance,

Aaron.

I have an HTC Desire and a Sony MEX-2500BT too, and I have the same problem with pauses/dropouts of the audio. I get them whether I use the built-in music app or Spotify.

I had no problems streaming music from my Nokia N95 to the same car stereo. I'd be interested in hearing whether you get it working, and whether the desire works better with other head units (hopefully it won't come to that for you - if I can't get the desire working I'll probably carry on using the N95).

Edit: I've just read http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=3038#c20 and it looks like turning off wifi on the desire might help with this problem. I'll give that a try next time I'm in my car.

For me it was defo the Wifi that was causing the problems. I had the same play for 10-20 secs then 2sec drop outs, i then went searching and heard turning off Wifi would sort the problem and sure enough the very first time i tried it there were no jumps or drop outs in connection. It has worked fine ever since with the Wifi off ;)

It works!!

Yay! Thanks :D

Hi,
I had the same problem with my Bluetooth car stereo, I switched the WiFi off as when you drive round the WiFi is searching for a signal and this affects the bt connection. I switched the WiFi off and it is fine now, I also use the default music app as when I had another music app both of them started playing music. The only issue I have now is that for some reason the music volume seems to go to zero percent, but I think that maybe something to do with the volume toggle widgets that I have.

I also have a Sony Bluetooth car stereo and my previous phone Nokia n95 worked flawlessly. Does anyone know if the froyo update has made any improvements to the Bluetooth?
