Damage Control: From 2.08 to 2.09?

I'm running Damage Control 2.08 (not 2.08.1) and am very, very happy with my Hero. 4G comes to my area in July, so I MAY consider the Evo then, but now right now I'm not itchy to switch.

Sprint released their 2.1 update and my understanding is that the good folks at Damageless have based their latest 2.09 on Sprint's new 2.1, adding their own tweaks.

Even after reading the changelog, I'm waivering over whether it will be worth my time to wipe and upgrade again.

Has anyone else gone 2.08/2.08.1 to the new 2.09? What is your experience with 2.09? Was it worth the time and effort? Did you notice any difference in performance? Or maybe a better question - anything in the Sprint release that I don't already have?

Thanks in advance....

I wish I could answer your question but I have that question too. I'm on DC v2.08.1 and it really works fine for me. Not sure the next step would be worth the trouble of the install and set up. Hope someone that has move from where we are to the .09 could fill us in on what's new and exciting. For now I'm hanging on to my 2.08.1 It works flawlessly...........

2.09 that was released is not working properly, there was an issue with the upload and they are working on getting it working.

I for one, liked DC 2.08.1 but so far, i am in love with Aloysius 2.1. Im using the overclocked kernel with JIT and so far its been SOLID.

I will not be going to DC 2.09 as it is the end of the line for DC. They wont be releasing any new roms, thus my abandoning them for Aloysius

Which one are you using? I see original theme and snow theme...both with 4 options.

Also, how stable is it? Does everything work on it? like weather animations and such? WHat about battery life

Sorry for the nub questions, just getting info for my first attempt at a custom rom

**Edit** I see you're using OC but are you using snow, normal, LWP or maps?

Hey
Sorry for the late reply i forgot to subscribe to the thread.

Im using the color original theme, and the OC MAPS version. I dont care about LWP.

So far its more stable than DC 2.08.1 with JIT. With jit on dc, it used to crash 3-4 times a day, now it crashes 0-1 times a day. Tonight its rebooted 2x for some reason, but hey thats ok, its probably due to the k9 update i just did.

Everything works, i dont use sense so i dont know what weather animations youre used to. I use beautiful widgets as sense+jit wont work. Sense sucks anyway, always used to crash for me.

Battery life is better than what i saw with DC, but still dies by 6pm, so i get about 8-9 hours of "normal" use...
