Fresh Rom 2.1.2 battery issues

So I rooted and installed Fresh 2.1, then flashed to update to 2.1.2.

Everything seems to be working great, except the battery seems to drain REALLY fast. Even compared to stock 2.1 when I was having 100% wake issues. And this time, the phone seems to be sleeping properly, but in five hours of standby, it's at 51% (from a full charge).

AND I'm using an extended life 1750 mAh battery. And I've had relatively excellent battery life until installing Fresh.

Now - when I was in recovery mode, I "wiped" my battery statistics - which I read I should do, just in case. Could this be part of the problem?

I've seen people talking about the "radio update" for Fresh, but I haven't seen any signal problems, and my "time without a signal" is 0%.

In "Battery Use" under settings, Cell Standby is listed as taking up most of the battery - but that was always the case for me, since 2.1.

One weird thing is that the camera is listed as 26%, and I only had it on - by accident - for like, 30 seconds. That seems... strange.

Anyone have any ideas or links that might help me out?

i would suggest wiping and reflashing the rom not just upgrading from 2.1.1 to 2.1.2. i once had a battery problem where it was draining it super fast. im talking about down to 85% from a full charge in just 15 minutes or so. i wiped and reflashed the rom and it seemed to have fixed the battery problem. try that i guess

Oh - I thought the only way to get to 2.1.2 was to install 2.1.1 and then update with the patch?

And I DID wipe my phone before installing the ROM.

Is there something else I should be doing this time around that maybe I missed?

I'm also interested in this because I'm seeing the same issues (except on 2.1.1). I was on 2.0d, then 2.1.1, then 2.1.2 and now back to 2.1.1.

If i wipe and reflash, can I nandroid restore, or would that be reintroducing the potential problem? Am i basically stuck setting the entire phone up again?

I just flashes 2.1.2 a couple days ago and i must say i couldnt disagree more. i finally tweaked the phone a bit and im getting amazing battery life. the phone is fast and very snappy. im still tinkering and adding things on so that may change.

i installed 2.1.1 and i wasnt terribly happy, but i flashes 2.1.2 on top of it and its cleared up a lot of issues. i assume you did the basics of lowering the backlight and the email frequency etc, so i hope you figure it out soon. good luck.

When you say "Tweaked the phone," what did you do?

And the battery drain I'm getting is far beyond email frequency and backlight issues. Unless it's to be expected that Fresh is much worse on the battery than the stock rom.

Well, my battery seems to be better. The only thing I did was run the battery all the way done until the phone shut off. I did this by turning on every radio, turning the brightness all the way up, putting a live wallpaper on (the little balls one), and then streaming Last.fm music or Youtube videos over and over. I got it right to the point where it simply would not turn on.

Then I charged it over night.

I've read in other places that this can help with battery issues - though I'm not sure which issues, exactly.

I had "Wiped battery statistics" from the recovery menu before flashing Fresh onto my phone. So that might have had something to do with it. Maybe the phone had to "re-learn" my battery.

Those with more technical knowledge can verify if that theory makes any sense at all.

While it does seem better, I still don't think it's as good as it was on the 2.1 stock rom, when the phone was sleeping properly.

We'll see how the day goes.

mostly customizing the phone how i want it along with the basic battery saving methods.

I used the stock UI yesterday and the battery life was really good. Im using Sense exclusively today while running the pong live wallpaper and a good amount of texts and im still at 72%. By no means a scientific experiment, but my battery and is much better than in 2.0d. the phone is also much snappier.

i came from 2.0d wiped, then flashed 2.1.1 then installed 2.1.2 on top of that. I also removed the HTC lockscreen for the vanilla one.

Just want to say that I'm having the same problem with battery life. Only my usage says Camera is 96%!! Cell Standby is 2% and Phone Idle is 2%. Very odd. Any solution found yet? Reflash maybe? FYI, I was running a version of DamageControl, wiped it, and flashed Fresh 2.1.2.
