DealExtreme: $5.01 3.7V 1500mAh Rechargeable Li-Ion Battery for HTC Touch Pro 2
This is my effort to try to save everyone a little time and money. I do not have any battery analyzers, but I tried to make this as scientific as possible with my limited knowledge and free time. I have three of these batteries. I am testing two of them now and saving one for a later test. I will continue to update this thread with new tests and hopefully some new batteries.
The following tests are conducted at the same location (within the same 1 sqft.) at roughly the same time.
DX - 1500mAh – Battery #2 – One week of use - Fifth Charge – Full overnight charge of 7.0 hours
7:14AM battery @ 100%
Close all non essential programs
Running Google Maps – Duration
Screen on – Duration
10:20AM battery @ 14%
Result: 86% power loss over 3 hours and 6 minutes.
-----------------
HTC – 1350mAh – Battery #1 – Three weeks of use - Unknown Charge – Full overnight charge 7.0hours
7:19AM battery @ 100%
Close all non essential programs
Running Google Maps – Duration
Screen on – Duration
10:15AM battery @ 14%
Result: 86% power loss over 2 hours and 56 minutes.
This is probably too close to call with just one test. I will continue testing throughout the week and post results. I would say it is safe to purchase this battery as a backup. It may or may not give you an extended battery life, but it is worth the $5.01
I will be testing DX Battery #1 next week. I believe DX Battery #1 will show better results. For some reason it has been lasting longer than DX Battery #2.
