Thinking about switching from my Evo to a Hero

What a lot of people said is the same with me also. My family just switched to Sprint from Tmobile and they decided to get a data plan so we all needed new phones. I was between the Evo and the Hero and I chose the Hero because I don't think I have a need for the Evo. I know the phone is powerful and has a lot of features but I don't see myself using many of those features. Like the camera, HD recording, wifi stuff where the phone acts as a router, etc. Also, the Hero is $100+ cheaper than the Evo.
This will be the first time I have a data plan and I don't see myself using it so much to the point where I'd need to spend $100+ extra on a phone.

I like the idea that someone else said though. Sell the Evo for $500 and get another phone. :)

i myself was interested in the evo. but poor battery life, 10.00 more and no 4g network along with its awfully big were deal breakers for me. the hero is the right size good battery life and good price. its not the fastest but its a good phone with the 2.1 upgrade.

Just make sure that you don't get to spend the extra $10 per month just because you got a discount on the EVO in exchange for signing up for a data plan and 4G (when/where available).

If within 30 days of signing, I would go to Sprint and get a new Hero.

I think I did have a little buyers remorse but I also like the idea of selling my evo and then getting a hero. We will see though. I think ill spend one more week with the evo and then make my decision. It's good to know that some ppl know where I am coming from and I appreciate the advice on the decision and the info on the hero. Thanks!

Not to rain on your parade here, but I think selling your Sprint HTC EVO 4G and then buying a Sprint HTC Hero and activating it on Sprint's network and expecting them to get rid of the $10 fee per month will constitute a contract breach and thus an early termination fee. I would be very careful about selling your Sprint HTC EVO 4G because you paid a subsidized price for it and Sprint is not going to take you making a profit on that lightly.

As someone stated above, I would definitely go back to a Sprint store and trade in your Sprint HTC EVO 4G for the Sprint HTC Hero within the 30 day limit. That way everything is legitimate and you will not have to fight Sprint over the $10 fee per month and an early termination fee.
