Very impressed with the quality and design of this product. So much so, I felt compelled to make this post.

It's small and sleak, yet durable and not cheap at all.

My old mount looks like Johnny 5. The M2 is compact and very versatile. You can pretty much mount it anywhere.

I was concerned that the adhesive wouldn't hold, but so far it isn't budging. I have a disk on a OEM Verizon hard silicone case and on a cheapo plastic ebay case.

Add all this to the $5.00 pricetag and in my opinion it is a must have accessory.

Enter "woot" into the promo box and they knock 20 bucks off the base price.

All credit and a big thanks for this deal goes to the folks over on the Car Dock duscussion thread.

I have only had it for a few days, but I tried to pull the disk off with a good amount of force and it didn't come off.

The disk is super thin and hasn't snagged on me yet. I use a belt case that is already pretty tight and it slides right in.

If you are going to use one as a dock, I suggest adhering it to a nice piece of finished wood or stone. This will make it portable and save your furniture. If you mount that thing to a desk or dresser I highly doubt it is ever coming off without ruining the finish.

I have OCD when it comes to my gadgets and I thought the disk would bug me, but it hasn't.

I would like to hear from people who have had the M2 for more than a few months. How does it hold up in the long term.

I bought the M2 from the same place about a month ago, a little surprised the woot code still works--glad it does. :)

Have to say out of all the mounts I've had and looked at, I like this one better than all of them. I had a problem with the adhesive on my car dash--my cars problem, not the mount-- where it would fall off after a few days. Same thing with other mounts I tried, so I ended up putting the mount on the side wall of the DIN sleeve under my radio. Looks and works great now. :D

Me being stupid, I also didn't realize that the disk adhesive wouldn't stick to my soft case till it was to late either. lol So I used one small drop of super glue, and it works great on there now, even removed it and putting it in a diff location without the superglue messing it up.

Fully suggest this mount to anyone looking. The only thing I Would suggest is to use a hard case/no case with it, as a soft case makes it wobbly on the mount when you touch it.

I also have OCD like Contempt--with most everything though, not just gadgets. Although I rarely notice it unless I'm looking at the back of the case for some reason, it annoys me a little. Only because I like stuff very clean and symmetrical. With that said, the disk doesn't really look bad at all, has never caught on anything, and holds the phone very well.

heh, talked more than I intended too.

It has set screws you tighten. Very rigid. They do recommend in the instructions that when it is mounted that some part of the phone be at a resting position against the dash.

I set mine up so the bottom rests against the console. This added stability as I'm using a silicone case. Works great.

I have mine floating up above the dash. I tightened the screws as hard as I could (using the included allen wrench) and used a crescent wrench for the bolt that attaches to the dash adhesive.

I use a naked incredible so the disk is right on the phone. When I mount it, it's like an extension of the dash, no wobbling at all.

Also the disk has never caught on my pocket, as the space between the disk and the phone is thinner than the edge of my pocket fabric. Also, the back of the disk is tapered to help guide stuff over it.

Great deal for 5 bucks. (+5 shipping)

is anyone using this on a phone with a case? i have the bodyglove case on my dinc and it's textured. will that interfere with the disc's adhesive?

also, can you buy extra discs for other items? to mount?
thanks!

I'm not sure what material the body glove case is made out of, but on my HTC soft silicon case it didn't stick at all. I had to use a drop of super-glue to get it, as I described above. lol

Just received my M2 today. Have not installed it yet. When you secure the little bracket to your dash, is it semi-permanent? I'm not interested in moving it, though I might be interested in getting rid of it in the future (if I change phones, etc.). If it's secured to the dash for an extended period, is it next to impossible to remove without damaging the dashboard?

I've had the button (piece that attaches to phone) come off twice (both buttons). Seems like the torsional stress is twisting them off. FYI, the button is attached to the "naked" battery door (as if there is no case on the phone).

Anyone else have this issue?

I did. I actually ended up ordering an Amzer clear hard plastic case off of ebay (I think it was like $7 shipped) and just super gluing the disc on. It's working perfectly now.

It's just adhesive sort of like 3M double sided tape (the thick, strong kind). Take a little heat to it and it should come right off. Follow that up with something like goo gone and it shouldn't be an issue.

I actually ordered 2 M2's yesterday... thanks for that code.

I'm sort of undecided about where would be the better place to put it though.

I have 2 spots that I would consider good spots (locations in pictures below):

My first possible location is in between my 2 vents and under the flasher. I figure at this position I can point a vent right at it with AC if it gets hot and its also at a decent reach distance.

Second spot is right above it on this area that is more horizontal. I figure at this spot it will be more visible to use for GPS, and that is really the primary reason for getting the mount in the first place.

Anyone want to chime in and give me their opinions on which would be a better spot?

Also I have the black/red gradient case and I just want to confirm from what I've read before... use super glue?

Thanks (Hope these pics post, first time trying picasa).

Yeah, I got mine in two days as well here on the East Coast. He screwed up my order, and I contacted him about it. He e-mailed me back offering me refund + I keep the product. I had a refund in 10 minutes and ordered another mount as soon as the refund went through. He shipped it out that same day! Excellent customer service from Wired for Less. :)

I can say one thing for sure, they get an A+ for shipping time!

Order Confirmation - 6/30 @ 12:27 PM.
Shipping Notification - 6/30 @ 2:06.
Received - 7/02 via USPS.

Agreed.

I Ordered it the 1st (Thursday) and chose the cheapest shipping... Came back from out of town this weekend and it was inside waiting for me.

Means it took 2 days at the latest... bravo!

Wasn't expecting it to be here so now I have to go out and buy some Krazy Glue and get it in my car this evening!
