Root Newly rooted user... What are Kernals?

Kernels are the software that directly controls the CPU of the phone. They are used to adjust clock speed and voltage, and to unlock wifi tethering. They can be controlled with SetCPU from the market.

GirLuvsDroid made a nice collection of Froyo kernels here: http://androidforums.com/all-things-root-droid/98988-froyo-kernels.html

Two things to keep in mind:

1. Everyone's Droid responds differently to each kernel. If you have instability or boot loop issues you might need to use a higher voltage or a lower clock speed kernel.

2. It's usually a good idea to make a nandroid backup before you install your first kernel.

Lol...I'm thinking you should start keeping a copy of standard replies saved on your desktop so you can cut and paste.
