The periods that I go text-dark are most often just hours, so I will have to do the testing myself...
Sure that part is easy, but post-Reset I'd have to do a bunch of setup I presume (and my time and--thanks to carpal tunnel--my available hand-use, is very limited).
I just thought of a new...
And that would be unacceptable, which is why I asked about temporarily porting my number to the new carrier.
That would be too much for me to do, I'd just settle for it's slowness.
A.
While changing carriers would be best, since it's an intermittent problem I'd need to test for like a week, and optimally have my same phone number. Would moving a number to a new carrier *temporarily* be feasible?
B.
Alternatively (or perhaps first) I could try what my carrier suggested...
I don't think that's it. During the text-less periods I also don't get texts that aren't from iPhones. Sometimes I realize that I'm in a text-less period because I try sending verification code texts from multiple banks and none arrive. Then I try sending myself a text from a Google.Voice...
I've suspected it was a carrier issue all along; they haven't been the slightest bit receptive to that idea.
I guess I could change carriers and see if that helps.
The majority of the time no issue, but at other times hours or days pass without receiving/sending texts. Then all the texts sent to me over those hours or days all appear at once. Rebooting sometimes results in them all appearing at once.
Measures tried:
Remove/replace SIM while phone off...
I just got a cheapo 2nd phone I plan to keep in the car and charged for emergencies.
I don't suppose I can import a backup from my phone which has so many apps on it, that the backup wouldn't fit on the new phone.
But I would love to somehow save time in setting up this new phone. Is there a...
I thought the problem might just be with the indicator-circle around the "Clock" app widget, but I tried a couple standalone battery indicator widgets and they don't work either.

The top row (aka "Notification Bar") background is much too dark to see the icons. I new to Android and Action Launcher, and I can't figure out how to resolve this by:
A. Making the icons white instead of black, or
B. Lightening the background (I think I figured out that the Action...
I tried enabling notification dots everywhere I googled about but they aren't working.
Moto G7, Android 9.
Is this normal (I'm a smartphone noob).
If I call on another phone and leave a message (after hitting the decline button) the notification dot never appears...but if I click to open the...
Now that I've added a 2nd Google account (work, because I use it for email & Contacts) to the phone I want to make sure the phone's PRIMARY Google account is the first one I had already added.
But I'm not sure how to find (let alone how to assign) which Google account is the phone's primary...
While helping my dad (which entailed adding his google account to my phone) I mistakenly let my phone sync his contacts, so to get rid of them I got rid of all my phone's contacts*.
Then I turned on Contact Sync for the one google account I want contacts from, and it says it Sync-ed, but when I...
I've read that this is app dependent, and I know wireless output would be an option, but I'll want to simultaneously output WIRED to both a headset and speakers.
The phone will have both USB-C and 3.5mm (the usual female TRRS). (3.5mm audio-only outputs are TRS.)
Could it work to use a USB-C...
