    hi, so i got the text from metro pcs to upgrade my huawei ascend to 2.2,it is rooted (z-root) but i never messed with the rom. will it be safe to just do the update.

    Hello sir, I did not unrooted my phone before doing the update to froyo2.2.... and now I'm very stuck on the huawei logo, I can't even get to cmw, or anything, the phone won't boot or nothing.... I've heard that there is a software that can fix my phone using the computer? I've tried everything, flashing back to stock, trying to reinstall cwm, and so far, nothing happens... I think there's a conflict with recoveries, cause after flashing back to stock, when I try to boot on cwm, it shows me just cwm 2.x.x.x at the bottom of the screen but nothing else... I need your help please..! thank you so much!

    So I just got off the phone with metropcs...cuz the update even from the website didnt work..update fails. He stated that even though I have used the recovery tool to flash to 2.1 my phone was rooted at one time which effects the firmware cant ever get it off. This why update fails. So nuttmeg and all other droid friends....what do I do from here. Does my phone work when I dial it in? Z4 root, GO launcher and some other cool items....do I need the update/no ...well I would like it just cuz I am a nerd and enjoy tweakin on it...any suggestions?

    I tried it fails on the unpack....grrrr. What that thing "PlayfulGod's 2.2 Rom" is it stable.....plz someone I need 2.2..why? I dont even no even know anymore <g>

    hey nuttmeg well i need to ditch 2.2 because i dont have data coming in whatsoever so im going to try and go for cm6 :thinking: if it works than i'll go to cm7 :D haha but i hope i can just go straight into it and not have the problem ppl are having with it like freezes and other things but i might need some help btw im going to try the steps you gave to dracotool hopefully it works for me haha fingers crossed im waiting for it to charge over 50% also i tried the link that you posted but i wont work i get an error message but i do have it installed on my laptop and also i downloaded the .apk file... but if CM6 nor 7 work than i'll go with PlayfulGod's 2.2 Rom haha wish me luck .... again ;)

    Good morning nuttmeg -

    First off thanx for all your help. I do appreciate your patience. I now can flash my ascend like a pro back to 2.1 but still unable to update to 2.2 from the steps you gave me...its keeps going to the home screen and locking. I left it on all night and when I woke up still stuck in that loop.

    Here are the exact steps I take:

    1- Using the MetroStockRecover I flash to 2.1

    2- I then install Z4 root

    3- Then i got to the market d/l Clokwork ROM

    4- Then I install the new Clokwork recovery

    5 - I then copy those files to my SD card and follow the instructions that you gave me to the T


    Here's the problem:
    - It loads then get stuck on the home screen.

    My questions:
    1- Should I reformat my sd card and if so what is the proper way?

    2 - Being my phone is rooted when I update is that affecting it?

    3- Are there any other 2.2 I can try? because I see alot of other ones out there but I am trusting you first and your thoughts.

    Hey u...quick question, I need to reflash my phone, cant install apps from m, arket it keeps force closing ,so I wanna save my apps, how do I do that again, I have the latest cwm, thx in advance

    There is a problem...even after gapps installation I cant get market? I can use the internet but no market plus no metro apps


    Well I got everything installed. I can get online after adjusting APN. Let me play with it awhile...your are the best. I used the following APN config:

    SO i decided to follow,or at least try to follow those links that you supplied. CM6 and 7. Which one is best for me though? I have metropcs. ALso I d/l cm7 but how do install...can I please get a step by step guide to installing. Sry dont mean to be a pain.

    Thanx alot for the help the other day on restoring my Ascend. I just got the IM from metropcs for the 2.2 and d/l it right now. Any thoughts? I have unrooted my phone but this d/l is going to take awhile...if you have any thoughts on this 2.2 let me know. Q? Is the 2.2 like Cricket? or I cant figure out all these new terms coming out. If you got time can you quickly break it down for me.

    Also how do I add you as a friend.

    One more problem, I promise. Is there ANY way to get back to the home screen with out going back page, back page, back page. Example, when I am running an app like talking TomTom how can I just get back to the home screen with out back tracking? Or get back to the lock screen. Anyone would be nice to get to with a push of a button.

    Hey I'm trying to understand why my ascend wont load CM6 or CM7 i have the 2.2 FroYo Update from MetroPCS so i know it can handle FroYo but why wont it handle CM6 it's based on it... Hmmm Do you think that now that i have 2.2 that i can probably be able to install CM6 at least? I really Want to get CM7 since its based on the Gingerbread but i have my doubts that i can get it on here... What do you think?

    2ndly under CM7-Ascend-05092011-signed, how do I get files to actually copy to my phone via usb cable? I have drivers installed, I can see sd card files, but I copy files and after doing so, files do not show copied on phone screen. Even tried using usb safety remove device, tried rebooting phone after files have copied. They showed copied on cpu screen. Odd

    I just did the cmy mod on my ascend and the arrow keeps spinning around durning boot up and then it ask me to touch the green android then goes back to the blue arrow spinning around. HELP PLEASE

    well this is my issue for today i have rom manger premium with cm7 installed the latest release....when i go rom manager then in download rom theres 2 selection one says extras and the other says google apps when u click google apps theres 4 selections first one say:
    1ST 20110307 universal recommended for cm 7.0x for android 2.3.3

    2ND 20110120 universal no longer supported for android 2.3.2

    3RD 20110115 universal no longer supported for android 2.3.2

    4TH 20110114 universal no longer supported for android 2.3.2

    you probably remember me from earlier, i cant get my phones usb to show up on my pc to get to my sdcard, i cant get cwm22xx for some reason cwm3xx stays, wen i bring up boot loader my phones info and files dont pop up bt i hear that its connect!everytime i try to flash CM7 it gtet hung at splash or boot screen! plz help, if yu can call me plz, call blocked if yu want i just need help badddddd 313 918 0662 roe, or some how live chat, n if i dont answer its probably cause im trying to flash again! plz plz pretty pretty plz! could it be my kernel or something!!!????
