Glad it worked out for you. I too used the command line when I first rooted my phone last week, only then I found out about root explorer. Would have saved me a ton of typing.

Hey, can anyone help me out. I'm looking to download .apk's from the official Motorola Droid 2.1 update, basically looking for some live wallpapers.

The examples that I want are:
Galaxy.apk
Magic Smoke.apk
Spectrum.apk
Water.apk
Waveform.apk

I've tried searching google for these, but I cannot find them, if anybody can hook me up, that would be great. Thanks.

Is There anyone willing to walk me through every step of roting my phone. Anyone? I'm a chic and am just so scared of following a video and screwing up my phone completely. Is there anyone willing to walk me through the whole process. If so, PLEASE email me or shoot me a personal messege with your email address. I just wanna make sure I'm doing all this right so I can see what my phone can readdy do. Thanks a bunch to whome ever.

The video is by far the best (and only) way you can get walked through the process, unless someone goes to your house...but please don't give anyone your home address, rooting is not THAT important.

Will rooting make my Moment any faster, cus after the 2.1 update my phone is so freaking slooooooooowwww! It's so annoying! I installed Panda Hero the free version and it got little faster but after buying the full version is acting so slow again....

Rooting really won't make your phone any faster. Rooting just gives you admin privileges to your phone which allows you to uninstall Sprint's Bloat Ware.

Would removing bloatware help it speed up because there's less stuff running in the background maybe?

I always used a Task Killer, so I can't say if it helps the speed or not.

I'm actually working on a video thats far less complicated than this one. It also includes support for theming and wifi tether =D

Then I guess there's no point in rooting... I have plenty of space on my Moment, even with the stock apps... I hardly install any apps on this phone.. I was expecting it to get faster after rooting... :cool:

Actually if you remove stock apps you won't be using, it will free up RAM, ergo a faster phone overall.

recently i purchased moment with 2.1 already installed. I tried to follow the video and root it, but the website digitalintegrity.us says its under construction. can I get this rootpack from somewhere else?

I messed up couple of times, but finally worked it out. I downloaded few apps that works amazing. I am still trying to figure out how to remove the bloated apps. In connect bot after # when i tried system/apps its not going any where. Help please.

The steps are easy to follow, but when I try to remove an app it says read only file. It says that for several files that I tried. Any suggestions??

idk if you're trying this in recovery or connectbot, but i've never tried it in recovery and have never had a problem doing it in connectbot.

but make sure you're paying careful attention to what you type in, especially the correct number of spaces for each command. if you do it correctly, you should see a # after each command you put in.

I finally got some signs that I am rooted, but I still am such a newbie... Now...
1. what do I do from here?
2. How do I get out of that screen?
3. Whats next in the learning process? Do I follow up on sdx's "how tos" thread?
4. It says I am connected...Connected to who? or what? do I leave that as is?

Please help!... :eek:

My phone has been overheating now... I think all this hype about rooting is just that... A fad! :mad:

Rooting shouldn't of caused that unless you deleted something that you shouldn't of.
