Remember after BB 1.0 came out...it was quiet time for awhile. There were very few new ROMs that came out at that time...this is like the exact opposite now! I want to exclusively run 3-4 different ROMs and it's killing me! I'm loading up really incredible ROMs setting them all up the way I like, backing up, flashing another incredible ROM...repeat.
Don't get me wrong...I'm happy with the choices...I just can't make a "commitment" to any of them and I find myself staring at Clockwork Recovery more than my homescreen
Absolutely, you took the words right out of my mouth... that's exactly what I'm doing. My latest tonight is the newest Simply Stunning release from Chevy, and this is just as good as BB.04, maybe better in some ways... I do love the look.
After CyanogenMod 6 becomes beta and has all the features of CM, I'll flash it, set it up and back it up and add it to my collection of roms that I switch back and forth from. I admit, I have ROMs Disease, and it's getting worse by the day.
Well this is a sweet update, doesn't seem to change much, alpha 3 that is, and it kills chrome to phone! dang, love that feature... any build from last night?
is this the page that we need to go to for nightlies>? if so is that 7/7 looks appealing!
I noticed the CM 6 nightly builds are showing up in rom manager now in the premium area in their nightly builds folder. hopefully they're getting close.
I wouldn't want them to rush this, of course, but the wait is killing me. CyanogenMod is my favorite ROM by far; I can't use anything else! Bugless Beast Froyo is nice but I prefer CyanogenMod 5.0.x.
Also some new performance settings in the latest nightly for CM6...not sure if they were in the last Alpha (7).
Settings>CyanogenMod>Performance
VM Heap and Dithering...turned of dithering and set VM Heap to 32. Got my best benchmarks ever, no apparent issues resulting from changes, only better performance so far.
I got 1460 Quadrant w/On-Demand setting in SetCPU, new "any rom" 1050 kernel from jdlfg...my Droid tends to bench slower than others, so I was very happy w/this result. First time I was top of the list in my quadrant results.
root is still fine for me, but i have to turn off auto rotate it makes the widgets move to different screens or need to be reloaded after you go back to portrait. using launcher pro
I lost root (really just means that su.apk borks) when I flashed the simply stunning ROM...it's most often an issue w/conflicts between the version of SU in the new rom and su data stored from the previous rom.
The fix (which solved my problem) is to wipe data...easy.
You can also try booting into recovery and flashing a superuser apk, but I tried that multiple times to no avail...wiping data is the real answer.

Also using LP w/no such issues...you might want to remove and restore your widgets to see if that fixes things, or maybe back up your LP settings, uninstall LP, reinstall, restore your shortcuts from settings and the restore your widgets.
Yeah just wiped and works flawlessly especially with 1.1Ghz ULV lol. I just need a quick way of backing up/restoring my apps. Is titanium back-up the only way? I've used it plenty of times before, but it doesn't restore all of my apps sometimes...
I have had good luck with T. BU
I have used the free version for a while but just got the paid version and it was well worth the high $7 price. I used to have to click so many times to restore and OK an app, and had to do it 70 times, LOL. Now I just tell it to batch restore apps AND data, and it's good.
RED is no no - don't restore those, because those will carry things over to your new ROM that are settings from the other ROM.
Anyhow, get it. I am restoring things now, then I will pass judgment. So far so good.
The market is too jacked up on mine.
Can't even install TiBu to load apps. Market shows it's DLing with no progress and when I cancel it, I get a FC. Pull battery, rebooted, rebooted again into recovery, applied Market fix froyo, rebooted - same issue.
That's too bad, I didn;t bother looking at the goodies yet, I just wiped and went back to Kang
Koush specifically says to avoid the nightlies. They're mostly broken, they're just simple builds of whatever is in the Cyanogen source tree at that point. There are alpha builds that are actually in testing posted...
