Facebook for Android vs. HTC Facebook

m.facebook.com is the best as far as I am concerned. It is basically the full site minus the margins. Most of the margin content is at the bottom of the page. It runs fast and has most of the content of the full site.

Absolutely this. The apps are bloaty and dumb, and the touch site that the default facebook link that comes on the phone is equally ******ed. Only reason I would use the FB app is if I *really* needed to upload a photo and didn't know you could "share" directly to FB from the gallery.

m.facebook.com is an app? Or is that just an alternate site you navigate to using browser?

alternate site. I've changed my bookmark to only point there.

edit: Also, if you really want FB chat, get meebo or ebuddy or something as mentioned above. Meebo has been pretty good to me so far.

could anybody explain if it's possible to DELETE a wall post, etc via any of the options available on android? I can't seem to figure it out on the Facebook app, friendstream, or the mobile site. The only way i seem to be able to do it is to switch the website to the full version and zoom in, and try to find the hidden "Remove" button (that would normally require a mouseover to view).

there has to be a better way...

I don't know i commented on someones wall post today and typoed and couldn't find a delete or remove anywhere.. But does it ever say sent from HTC sense or mobile when using your phone? My old TP2 did. Not that it matters but if I am on break from work and using my phone I would like it to say that. Guess I could just type it in. Someone said maybe it doesn't say that cause it goes from the m.facebook to the touch page. I don't know. But I was on FB today and just went to the browser. I never really FB chat anyway I am usually invisible when I am on from home.

I would love some help with this if anyone can figure out what's going on.

I have the FB for Android app installed. I am rooted with Bugless Beast. I was trying to add Fb as a sync account through settings->accounts & sync, but when I would click add->FB, nothing would happen. Then I logged out of the FB app, and my attempt to add a sync account would bring me to the login screen. I can log in, but the account doesn't show up in my list of sync accounts.

When I go to a contact, in the sync and gallery screens both say to log in to FB to link. In the sync screen, nothing happens. In the gallery screen, it pulls up a loading screen that stays up indefinitely.

I just want my pictures to sync. I've been using syncmypix, but starting earlier this week, it stopped being able to find any contacts. Not sure what's going on there. Twice, I have gone through and connected them all manually, but on the next sync, it loses all connections.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: Just uninstalled and reinstalled FB app. I'm getting the same results still.

EDIT AGAIN: Just uninstalled and reinstalled SyncMyPix, and it was able to connect my contacts this time. I still would like to get the account sync up and running.

I agree. The preinstall fb app rarely works. My account sends me emails which send me directly to the mobile site--- i do everything i need from there. As far as chat, use meebo. Got rid of my Gtalk(still pops up after killing the widget, choosing not to have it autosign me in, etc) do all my chat on meebo...Waiting for Trillian to get out of beta!

I have both. My Facebook for HTC Sense takes up 35MB, all data, and Facebook takes up 20MB, 14MB of which is data.

I'm not in need of extra memory at the moment but when the time comes and I have to cut back something then I'll have to consider deleting the data on one or both of the FB apps...but what exactly could be taking up almost 50MB of data? More than just usernames and passwords I think!

I'm loathe to delete something and potentially screw things up when it's all working fine but freeing 50MB of space is tempting!
