Aug 11th Official Release Date

This isn't official. Change the thread title.

Yeah... Pretty sure when he started the thread he thought it was, considering an "Official" Sprint Playbook stated it as so. Why so serious?

BTW- He can't change the thread title, he can only change the original post header/ title. The original title in the Epic 4G forum thread list will remain the same.

Has anyone else thought it strange that all this soonish release talk is going on and the official Epic 4g site only has one of 3 videos active. The other two are still "coming soon". Seems to me that those would be uploaded before any release date and I doubt that both videos will be uploaded to the site on the same day.

Actually something along those lines happened with the Instinct (I think it was Instinct) Where there was three videos, only one available. I was thinking the other two would be released, in order, before the phone was released. Nope, the phone was released, then shortly after the other two videos were put up. It was kind of silly to think about, but it did happen just like that.

A Mod can change it though

Wow droid 2 has now been officially announced and preorders have officially begun. Motorola Droid 2 (and R2-D2 edition!) finally official: Android 2.2, Swype, $200 on contract -- Engadget
C'mon sprint! Feed us SOME kind of news or else i will have to go the expensive verizon way :(

Wow... pretty cool and there will be an R2-D2 Edition.

Something of interest though, that is one hell of a tight time frame. Announced today, preorders tomorrow, in-store Thursday. That actually gives me hope for the Epic, and that they aren't "dropping the ball" as everyone thinks.

It also shows that Sprint has no need to give a release date 2 weeks in advance, hell Verizon is only giving 2 days.

I don't think Sprint is entirely in charge of the Epic's release date. It could be Samsung pushing back so the first two devices have a shot before releasing a device that's pretty much superior to other Galaxy S devices in every way.

That is a very real possibility, or maybe they are testing the waters with the first two devices to find problems then trying to fix those problems before releasing the last two devices. Well I can hope at least...
