The most annoying thing about swype

Works fine in Landscape here, you have to cross over the shift key, but thats not major deal, it still activates, for me at least.

That being said, nice find, never knew that was there, and it seems really useful, been a few times I needed to change a single letter in a word and its always been easier to simply delete the word and type the whole thing out instead of trying to line the cursor up using that magnification that tends to hide directly underneath your finger.

So it does! hmmm could have sworn I tried it more than once and couldn't get it. Yeah it deffently makes some things easier.

I love swype and use it every day.

ONE MAJOR PROBLEM, with an Android App, SplashID, which I've used for years.
when you type in your password using Swype, SplashID will NOT recognize it even if you've typed it letter by letter correctly. So, in order to use this program, I have to switch back to 'standard' android touch screen, so I can put my password in......

quick question about swype - if you are in a text or email app, is there a way so to get it to bring up contacts as you type. For example, if I want to text aaron, with the multitouch, i could type aa and it would bring up contacts whose name started with aa, then i could just select aarron. With swype i cant figure out how to do this.

Thanks

I disagree with the post about Swype getting smarter on some words. I think the reverse is true in several instances. It has actually recessed on a few.

YESS! jesus I wish it would stop changing the dictionary everytime i add letters to words. now when i want to say "pretty" the menu always comes up for "preeetty,, prettttty, and prettyyyy" or when i want to say "shut up" i have to sift through the "shuttt, shutt, and shuuut" and the "up, uppp, and uuuup" before i can answer!

IS THERE ANY WAY TO GET IT TO STOP ADDING WORDS TO THE SWYPE DICTIONARY????!

I absolutely love Swype and haven't changed to any other method of typing for more than a few minutes since getting my X. Having said that, they really need to consider allowing users to delete words from their dictionary that they never are going to use (as some other members have already mentioned). The most common one for me, other than the notorious YEAH, would be AND being switched to ABS constantly. It drives me absolutely crazy.

I love swype, but hate that it has a hard time with the smaller words. Big words are no problem.

Plus I cant seem to get it to behave right for words with double letters back to back. (wall, call, need/needs, too, etc..)

Maybe I'm missing something and need to RTFM too lol.
I just use a swirl motion over the letter I need two of and have no problem. I love swype.

Sigh..again you do not understand. Look at the word yeah and trash on your keyboard, no algorithm is going to correct two words with virtually identical paths. I can type yeah over and over it continuously asks, Utah, Yeah, or Trash. The paths to type them are too close. This is NOT an RTFM, this is an un correctable problem. Again you are being rude and you are completely incorrect. I give up on you.maybe once you actually own the device you will understand. As far as me not being nice, you told me to RTFM, and gave me incorrect information. think about who got "snarky". :)
I'm not sure why but I had no problem typing Yeah, trash or Utah.
