If you are roaming you will not receive a system update notice. You will need to enable Wi‐Fi and wait for the update notice to appear or as mentioned above you can manually update by add steps.
JuniorNA,
I can tell you without a doubt and with no reason to lie about it that I received the OTA on Sat. am sometime between 11pm and 5am when I woke for work. It initially seemed a little quirky without much improvements and frankly I was disappointed! After some reading I decided to do a factory reset and WHOA! Much improved!!! No lag, no hesitation between screen flips, faster internet and improved battery life, especially from the stock battery! I've been on the stock battery since saturday and although I havent really done any benchmarks, I did make it through a 12 hr shift yesterday and when I got home still had about 60% left with mild usage where before I was only getting about 6 hrs.
Still nothing in Las Vegas, NV.

If I don't receive the OTA by the end of the week I am officially going back to my iPhone just on principle alone. HTC is letting me down hardcore and making me semi-regret the android switch.

Once you do get the update, you're going to wish you could delete this post out of embarrassment. It's an update for a phone that already works extremely well. Take a deep breath and think.
no one has said how many they are rolling out a day. everyone is saying something diff. hence why i asked if anyone had heard something that isnt an estimate from themselves

Embarrassment? I think it's reasonable to be impatient for an update you expected to receive a month ago, then to be given and EXACT date from Verizon themselves only to find out it could be another week.. Yes the phone is pretty decent already. (At least with a 2.2 rom it is) But since I've been instructed to revert back to the stock rom/radio so I can receive the OTA, I've had to just chill and wait without the advantages that 2.2 brings until I get the update. Which sucks.

Verizon NEVER gave a date until the day before the update was to roll out. The dates you heard were rumors started by forum geeks or had uninformed sources.

You read my post right? Because I said I expected it to get it about a month ago (ie: When I bought the phone all the rumors pointed towards late July or early August.) I then said Verizon released the "Date" for the OTA, which got me excited that it was finally coming out and no more listening to rumors in forums about when froyo will be officially released. Much to my dismay and disappointment.. I didn't get it the day Verizon announced, and now everyone is speculating a million different reasons for why.. "They're doing it be region.." "They're releasing it to a select few to test bugs.." etc.

Holy god. I was exaggerating people. I'm not *actually* going to cancel my Verizon contract and go back to AT&T just because waiting for this update (that we already technically have) is frustrating.
As soon as I get, I'm sure I'll be fine and happy with my DInc over my iPhone4. But until I get the OTA I reserve the right to be grumpy like 98% of the people on these boards are.
Froyo came out before the summer even started. The Dinc is getting it just now in September (way overdue).
And when Verizon finally announces that it's coming out, they don't deliver. It was announced on Friday, and now it's Monday afternoon and nobody has it. Verizon is a HUGE company that's being VERY lazy when it comes to rolling out a small software patch. They need to get their PR act together. Or actually release the update (none of this "random roll out" bullshit).
