I did a quadrant benchmark test with the Epic and noticed that it falls just under the Droid X. The droid x is still running 2.1, right?

UGH! Everyone should know by now that the Droid X scores higher because it performs better in the I/O portion of the benchmark. QUADRANT IS A BAD BENCHMARK. Don't use it.
Instead, run linpack, nenamark1, and neocore. Seriously. Do it. Let me know what you get. (hint: the Epic is faster in all of those)

Okay, I hope this explanation makes sense.
Quadrant comes in two variants. A free one, and a professional paid edition.
The free edition just gives you 1 total score at the end. The professional edition breaks down that score and shows you how its added up, for example cpu performance, I/O performance etc.
When one looks at quadrant free, one is under the impression the DroidX is faster. However, when one looks at the professional version, which shows the breakdown of the score, one would see that the Galaxy S phones do score higher in cpu performance and gpu. So why is Droid X getting a higher total score? Well the answer is because of I/O, Droid is getting a really high I/O score. But guess what, once you apply the lag fix on the galaxy s phones, which resolves the I/O issue, guess what, the I/O scores on the Galaxy S blow away the DroidX I/O.... so running quadrant professional on a galaxy s phone with lag fix shows that the Galaxy s phones are the fastest android phones and THE planet, in the Universe, faster than DroidX, droid is left in the dust. But then again, droidX has a working gps. haha.

the epic beats the droid x in every other benchmark other then quadrant. With linpack, neocore, and nenamark the epic gets higher scores then the droid x.
