Help to the point of crying....

thought there would never be a day when i said this!! but my effin droid x if effin up!... i THINK it has to do with my home key.... my phone is trying to effin open voice commands... CONSTANTLY.. like it cant even get out.. please say a command.. before it trys again... ITS SO ANNOYING>.. i got the extended battery today but it doesnt even matter..... ANYONE HAVING THIS PROBLEM PLLEAASE TELL ME.. i do not want to have to send it back... help PLEASE
ps.. can you feel my frustration..
oh yeah... Droid X leaked 2.2 rooted, flyX with the rEVOlution theme.

I would agree with a stuck home key
no good way to fix this, but have you tried pulling the battery?

If you are accidently pressing the home key twice quickly it will do that or like the post above is saying your home key is getting stuck. Try it out, just press the home key twice fast - and the voice command thingie comes up, that's the default setting. I get impatient and press the home key twice in succession and it happens. Try slowing down a bit.

OP, go back to the old battery. Any difference? Is the new battery an authentic Moto battery from an authorized Moto store? I know you said it doesn't matter, but maybe it matters.

Also, oem moto or vz authorized chargers. Weren't people fraggin' OG Droid's and DINC's with cheap chargers that put out the wrong voltage? I know that happened with a DINC I had, but realized the problem immediately and was able to circumvent permanent damage.

If it is a stuck home button, an option would be just to shut off use of the home button itself. That way even though its stuck, it wont do anything annoying like that.

okay to clarify.... new battery(motos 1800mah battery(ordered from vzw.com), thought about the same size sedio1700... but i went with name brand and the difference is sooo minimum.. definitely worth the 1mm difference) came this afternoon problem started yesterday.... ive pulled batteries and rebooted many times... i do not press the home key at all now.. i try to avoid it.. now.... HOW DO I TURN the home key off were it doesnt default to anything.... i would love to just unistall stupid voice command so i dont have to hear.. "please say a command" but not an option... so im willin to turn default home key off.. btw i have launcherpro plus.. and i have that home key default set to do nothing... thanks again for the quick and helpful responses...

so AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH i dont even have a ****ING phone now... the stupid thing cut off... now since THE ****ING home key is down.... i cant reboot the ****ING phone because it thinks i want to go into reboot mode!!! **** my life... excuse the language...

please help me... cussing isnt going to fix the problem..... i cant turn freaking phone on... my home button is stuck down... im saying this as calm as i can.. i turn the phone on and it thinks im trying to go into recovery mode... NO WAY to get out of this infinete loop.... i want to cry....

because i just want you guys to tell me some magical way to fix it and my phone works great again.. i dont want to have to wait 2-3 weeks for a phone... i work and go to college... have ALOT on the phone with super importance...

Have you tried gently tapping the phone on a table or counter or something similar to pop the home button back up? Perhaps using a micro-sized screwdriver or tweezers to pull it back up? Once it's up, use some compressed air in a can to clean out whatever is gumming up the button.

well heres the thing... i can click the button in... and it comes out... but the phone thinks its still being pressed.. so "stuck"

So you still get the physical click when you press it now? Or does the button just move in and back out? If you are still feeling the physical click, then there is more serious hardware issue that verizon will need to replace your phone for.

There was a thread on here a while back about someone disassembling their phone and putting it back together (and it still worked), but I think Verizon would be a better option here.

i feel it... but i could (BEFORE I TURNED IT OFF) leave it sitting there and it would constantly pull up voice commands like it was pressing the home button by itself..

Hope you get it fixed by cleaning/blowing out the home buttom...if not you're gonna have to send it in/get a replacement. Is it under warranty?

Replacement phones ARE in stock. I got a replacement (refurb) in two business days. Except for the fact I used my existing battery, door, charger, I wouldn't have known it from new.

That's no good. Sorry to say that you have a bad button. I would get Verizon on the phone or go the store and get your phone replaced. Wish I could give you better news.

Thanks for all the support through this hard time(dust in wind playing in the background) know that i flashed stock 2.1 to my phone and plan on taking it back today... the home just all together doesnt work anymore... take this moment of silence to remember what a good droid this one was here... maybe i get a new baby droid x and it can replace the hurt i have... on a more serious note, i have insurance so is it gonna cost me anything to get the refurb
