Winning them over, one at a time...

Why do you guys care so much about phones that other people are using?

The more people using Android phones, the bigger the market and the more-pressure companies have to put apps out for Android too and not just the iPhone. The Captivate is of particular usefulness here as it has several technological advantages even over the flagship iPhone 4.

I could not agree more!

Side by side my iPhone 4 & Captivate are night and day when it comes to anything other than the smallest font, when reading. Even then the difference is nothing compared to what Apple would have you believe. Apple did what Apple does best.. "smoke and mirrors" marketing.

The Captivate display is really outstanding and I find it so much better than Apples, due to the eye popping colors, great contrast, real black and overall clarity.

At Apple, they were all sitting around having lunch and one of the Apple engineers said "Hey we'll call it a Retina Display" throw a bazillion dollars into the marketing campaign and everyone will believe it's "Magical & Revolutionary"... ha..ha..ha.. yeah right!

It's nothing more than a small IPS display. Technology that's been around for years. I've got several ThinkPads from 2005 onward with IPS displays. They are very nice, but not as magical as Apple says.

Cheers... :)
The Captivate has some advantages being AMOLED, but I still can't help be let down by the pentile matrix arrangement of the pixels. Text on it looks like crap in comparison which is realistically what I spend more time looking at. I don't watch movies on my phone so I don't care how great it looks when watching them, I want clear text.

I could be crazy but I find text on the Captivate to be very clear and readable. The browser and ebooks look awesome to my eyes.

I'm with you. I watch movies in my home theatre.

Reading on the Captivate is very relaxing and quite clear. Before you judge, you've got to use one on a day to day basis to fully appreciate it's clarity, brightness and perfect contrast.

But...Apple fans love their Apples.

lol I am a huge apple fan and the iPhone sucks I love my Captivate.....yes i switched over and dont miss my iPhone at all. I was so tired of being locked down on my iphone and being forced to use itunes. Yes i got into the jailbreaking but it was a pain everytime a update i had to redo everything. Here on my captivate i can do what I want plus drag and drop my music no matter where i am.

Lol no more we dont like that app you cant install it oh no customizing for you we dont allow that.

Love my Captivate now

Friend of mine just fell in-love with it watching my converted videos of Alice In Wonderland, and Up. She said it looked amazing and wouldn't set it down, even though she was right in my living room with my Blu-Ray player and 92" screen.

Everytime I show folks this it blows them away. Friend at my job had to get one when I showed him the goodies on this phone.

My co-worker picked up a Captivate based on a demo I gave him of the phone :).

It's so true. I've had more people ask me about my Captivate than any phone I've had. I don't show the phone off either, which makes it more interesting. It seems like when I least expect it someone notices this phone & asks about it. I'm seeing more and more in use.
