Anyone have a surefire way to brick the moto droid 1? Thanks.

I think starting to flash a .sbf file using RSD and unplugging it midway will probably do the trick.

Software wise I dont think there is any sure way to brick a Droid. I have had my dog knock the usb cable out of my Droid when I was sbfing it and it messed up but I was still able to sbf and fix it. Now if you do the above and get it wet its not going to work.

yea but mostly cause the phone went flying. I knew I would still be able to sbf and fix the issue.

lol thanks, I might not try the toilet or running I over. I thought about trying to find a gsm radio update for the milestone to flash onto it considering its cdma I figured that'd do the trick. Its my 4th droid. I've had nothing but trouble with it, so I figure brick it and try to get an upgrade. 4 phones in 6 months is a little more than agrivating.

By doing that, you'll probably be voiding the warranty, so no new phone. Take it back unrooted and non-bricked and see if you can convince them to swap it out for a DX or D2. If it's bricked, they probably won't exchange it.

I'm pretty sure that is called insurance fraud, and it's illegal.

No. can't be insurance fraud unless he has insurance. The Warranty is not considered insurance.

There is also the magical white screen. Tell them that sometimes your droid goes to a white screen sometimes, and the only way to get it back is a battery pull. they'll eventually say okay, and mail you one, and you mail yours back. done deal.

I don't believe it legally is. I think verizon could remove your warranty if they found out, or even make you leave their network. But there is no legal action they could pursue. Its a warranty... Heck, I could be totally wrong! JUst thinking out loud. definitely not morally correct, OR Fair to the rest of us (because it drives up the costs), But who knows!
