Google Maps 5 on EVO

no.. it does not..

today.. coming home from work... I know the areas of trouble..
I know the streets that dont have issues.

It constantly tried to route me back to the hwy that is shorter in distance, but double the time because of traffic.
telling me to turn around ..
it even showed me the long way to get back on the hwy.. right in the middle of the traffic jam.

Just wondering is there any way for google maps to remember all entered destinations ? not only the last few

You can star a location in maps and then it is stored under starred locations until you un-star it.

Mine takes what it thinks is the quickest and its usually right. If you choose to pan out while in navi it will show the route along with the traffic status (as it thinks it is) and how long it will take. Then it usually gives me 2-3 more routes and time estimates but it always, by default, chooses first what it thinks is the quickest route. I can override it and choose one of the other suggested routes though.

Anyone else having a new 'loop' glitch during navigation? Several times recently, on several different routes, the navigation has instructed me to make a u-turn, drive back to the previous intersection, then make another u-turn. I fell for it the first time. Though now I can see on the map that the blue line u-turns back, but also continues straight on my current path, indicating that it's about to take me on a little semi-dangerous time-waster. WTF?

So we were actually looking to locate a Beer shop that we had heard of so I finally popped open google maps since it's been updated, and I must say i was impressed. I am pretty sure we hadn't had the street view feature before (at least no place I had seen it). It was a little town in central Iowa yet street view was available. Pretty amazed, impressed, happy, etc. There is also now a little navigation button to open the nav app. I am almost certain this wasn't like that before. Super happy to see this because now I search for a place on google, tap maps, tap nav, and it is all there for me. All I have to do is follow the directions.

I ended up uninstalling the update to 5.0. I no longer have 100% sensor usage on battery. Haven't tried re-installing it as I'm still dealing with battery drain elsewhere and trying to figure out what it is (right now I suspect Facebook for HTC Sense)...

You rooted? I know some of the roms come with the new PRI/NV and that was killing my battery and battery stats would show android system at 70% and maps at 30% 100% of the time, even if I had never used maps.

I rolled back to the second most recent PRI/NV (no other change) and its been all good too, now battery stats are accurate and battery life is back to normal.
