Help Do you think the Evo will get Honeycomb?

Alright,i know I'm getting ahead of myself with gingerbread not being released yet. But we probably all agree that it will happen.

On to the topic though. Honeycomb is slated to release for tablets, as we all know. But a recent interview with android's UI designer hints that it will also come to mobile phones. If and when it does, in your opinion, would it be released on the evo?

I personally feel that by then we'd have an evo successor either on the way or already released. Priority would probably go to that device in terms of upgrades. But I wouldn't be surprised if the original evo got honeycomb too.

What do you guys think?

Here's a link to the video interview if you haven't seen it yet. Its pretty long.

Exclusive interview: Google's Matias Duarte talks Honeycomb, tablets, and the future of Android -- Engadget

If Honeycomb is only for tablets, that will throw everything off.

They had this nice feature where each new release was a food item that began with the next letter of the alphabet.

If Honeycomb becomes a tablet only OS, what will the H-release for phones be? Why have to H-named releases? Or will they continue on..with "I" for the mobile phones?

Also, would they segment things further by releasing Honeycomb-Tablet and Honeycomb-Phone?

Something's gotta give...

First you need to watch the whole video here and you should get all the answers. He said that tablets where the first devices to showcase the new OS but not that they are the only devices. Buttons are no longer required on devices so tablets can now have all the buttons on-screen so they will be in the correct location at any orientation. Buttons are still going to be allowed on devices if the manufacturer thinks they are necessary. He also said that the OS will still be scalable to all screen sizes. What it sounds like one of their main goals is to have a great interface that will work on any device that has Android on it IE:phone, Tablet, Car, TV, any device. So to answer the main question of this thread YES i believe the Evo 4G will see Honeycomb on it. Weather or not it will be an official HTC release or a custom ROM that I don't know. That would all depend on how long HTC wants to support their device. I look forward to getting an EVO soon so I hope they will port Honeycomb and whatever else is after that.
