should i get a refurbed iphone4?

the icrap4 will be avail for Verizon for Verizon customers early on Feb. 3 and to the public on Feb. 10th. It will most likely NOT have 4g, and a few months after this comes out Verizon will release their lineup of LTE phones that will blow the icrap away. and like every july, crapple will release an icrap5 that will more than likely be cabable of 4g on verizon, so to you crapple people. wait for july, don't jump the gun, even in there isn't 4g in your area, the icrap5 will be much better than icrap4. BTW I hate crapple. sorry if it;s obvious. MY dumbo step-mom switched to a-stink&t about 3 months ago because she HAD to have an icrap4. Well looky here, couldn't have just waited a few months and could have it on the best wireless network. astin&t is the worst now.

To each his own. I don't really like Apple myself (just a personal preference) but I'm not going to bash Apple or iPhone users because of it.

That being said I'd have to agree with the others saying root and wait for the slew of 4G devices rolling out.

With rooting you can get enough out of the Eris to make it an easy wait. Quicker/smoother response and feel, longer battery life, no dialer lag... It's pretty much a different phone after you find a ROM you like.

If you don't feel the same you can always make the jump after giving it a shot.

I was about to call it quits with Verizon after they gave me the 5th Eris, But I decided to root it and it is better. In my opinion it still is not a great phone but with the right rom it can be a good phone.

I would root it until you decide what you are going to do. I will say that I will never get a first gen anything ever again. I am happy that Verizon has the iPhone but you could not pay me to get the first one Verizon puts out after the experience I have had with my Eris.
