Got the otterbox for the HD and a car charger on ebay, it fits perfectly and did not add as much bulk as I had thought, device looks really good in it.

AndreaCristiano and a few other guys said that it was just supposed to be rounded up. It wouldn't make sense to have different mm measurements when the others are exact copies.

and you have no problems with any of the buttons or holes for microphone or sound

FWIW the Otterbox website now lists their commuter series case as being for both the Desire HD and the Inspire

I have the HTC Inspire and the i can gurantee u that the otterbox defender series for the HTC Desire HD WILL fit with no fuctionality problems. Its all a marketing scheme i think. Everyone has figured it out, that why its almost impossible to find one right now, anywhere!!!

You can get the defender case (HTC desire hd) from amazon for $28-30 now. Also $18 for the commuter case. Or even on eBay. I got mine from amazon

Amazon has the real otterbox cases. I have purchased several otterboxes for other phones from amazon as well they were all real not fake. Of course ebay is the one to look out for but if the case costs the same on eBay as it does on amazon I would just get it from amazon for $30.
I have never seen a defender case on amazon advertised as $10. And the super cheap ones on eBay will say "like otterbox" in the description which of course means fake.
Why you pushing ohcases so much, you work for them? I looked at that site when I first wanted an otterbox for my inspire also needed defenders for some evos, said they were out of stock for both when I emailed them about the cases and when they might be getting some in I never got a reply, I waited a lil over a week then said forget it and purchased from amazon. Why would I do business with a company that can't even answer a presale question? Also this was a few weeks ago now and still no response to my email.

My husband even ripped the rubber plug piece of one of his iPhone defender covers and he called otterbox answered a few questions and they replaced the rubber portion of the cover. Don't think they would do this if amazon is pushing fakes.

You will see that OtterBox is trying to fight the Fake sellers. Most of the time they can be found on marketplaces like Amazon and eBay. There are cases that say OtterBox, but fake. If you get the Defender Case for less than 30 dollars with the shipping including just forget about it, thats not a real otterbox.

So if ohcases decided to offer free shipping guess their otterboxes would be fake then huh? Since they have defender for $26.95.

Amazon gives free shipping on orders over $25 so my $30 ($28.99 to be exact) otterbox would qualify for free shipping. Plus its ordering it from Amazon not a 3rd party seller on amazon. The price for the case is pretty much the same on amazon and ohcases but free shipping and no tax (shipped to TX) on amazon makes it a better deal but in total not by much. I ordered 2 evo defenders and 2 inspire defenders ($115.79) had I ordered from ohcases it would of only cost $0.83 more but again they never answered an email and i waited over a week to see if they could tell me when this cases i wanted would be back in stock, so why would I want to give them $116?

Ebay you are more likely to buy fake anything now, especially if it says bulk packaging not in retail box. But there are some online retailers that look to expensive their stores to ebay because a lot of people try ebay first to see what they can find. It's all about reading the entire auction and asking questions.

And no where in that link you provided did otterbox say amazon themselves were selling knockoffs

Just curious if anybody had any problems with the screen protector on their otterboxes?

I had one for my 3GS and I loved the case, but couldn't stand the screen protector. It never ever sat right, and even if I could eliminate all of the bubbles (darn near impossible) it would fog up like that was it job.

So I was curious if the screen protector was the same or if they'd improved it since then.

the otter box for the inspire already comes with one that snaps on. and best of all i have never heard of any bubbles which is sweet! just snaps on and thats to it. once you figure it out. its a beautiful case.

It fits my Inspire like a glove. Fits on my belt and in my pocket. Just rubbery enough not to slide off the table/counter/sink into danger. Not rubbery enought to fight you on the way out of your pocket. Ergo - the perfect solution for me.
