It's great to have a front cam if you have family/friends that live far away. The Inspire definitely has the better build quality but that's not to say that the Atrix isn't a solid device even though it is mostly plastic. The performance isn't really realized until you are opening apps, playing games, using maps/navigation or processing of voice commands. In general browsing around the OS you probably won't notice much of a difference.

The thing about the ffc is it doesn't work with any messaging app. Not fring. Tango or yahoo messenger which sucks. I am going to get an Inspire and put my Atrix on ebay

After going through the debacle that was updating the Samsung Captivate to 2.2, I've decided to get a new phone. I'm trying to decide between the Atrix or the HTC Inspire. What would you guys recommend?

Are you eligible for an upgrade? You can always test both out, see if you like them and then decide from there. If worse comes to worst you'll just have to go back to your Cappy or find another carrier with a phone you want. If within the 30 day period take them/it back and everything will be the same before you decided to upgrade to either regarding the upgrade fee and charges made for the new phone. I've asked since I'm on the fence also IF IN CASE I didn't like either phone and want to go back to my Cappy, more below.

I'm in the same boat here, after upgrading to 2.2 on my Captivate and GPS still not working and lag issues still consistent I tried to like my phone after the update but decided to try out these two new Android phones on AT&T, also since my contract just expired.

I have the Inspire for now. I got it at Best Buy for 99$ upgrade price last Saturday. I would have started with the Atrix as I'm thinking that if I DO keep either of the two it'll prob be the Inspire after what I've read so far but when I went they didn't have any in stock. (They only got like 3-4 when it released. :() I can't believe how fluid HTC's UI is, IMHO. It flows quite nicely, no lag whatsoever and guess what?!?!!? I get a GPS lock in doors and it stays locked!!! WOOHOO! Haven't really tried any real world test but this only helps to be more promising for the GPS.

The Sense UI is really useful for my tastes, all the apps and widgets are actually quite useful and come in handy. I'm just getting use to how everything works under HTC's umbrella of UI. Surprising how different one brand can be from another with Android, why I'm a bit hesitant to try the Atrix as motoblur has no good merits from what I've encountered, except my one and only coworker, lol. So far and overall it being only a few days, I really enjoy using and discovering all the little things and helpful tricks HTC has to offer.

To date, I don't know if I really actually want to try the Atrix after working with HTC's Inspire but will just so I can definitively say which I like over the other.

I will be posting a short review if interested of what I think so far. I will be testing the Atrix as well just to be fair. I think both phones would be great especially since I was orig leaning towards the Atrix. It really all depends on your cup of tea. :D

Cheers
