Just ordered my new N1!!!!

Damn I think a lot of people will be sick tomorrow and working from home LOL. I worked 2 days from home when I was waiting for mine then after missing the delivery while walking my dog I drove to fedex, tracked down the area and number of the truck that had it, and spent an hour trying to track down the truck while driving around frantically like a crack head for a dealer.

lol

Is anyone going to try to use the N1 with a data-only plan-- using google voice with gizmo or skype over data to make calls?

Is that even possible with Tmo or any carrier? That's what I'm really interested in.

I believe it's possible with tmobile since u can have data only plans, but I'm not sure how you'd go about setting all that up lol

Were you able to get a discount on your monthly plan from your employer for that? The guy at the store told me the EM+ plans are not eligible for the discounts.

Also, you guys paid before the service month, right? they charged me $69.99 + tax at the store for the next month. So EM+ is prepaid then?

If you have a work for a qualifying company or are a student at a qualifying school and activate your service in a corporate T-mobile store, you activation fee will be waived for an Even More Plus plan as long as you show proof like an ID for your job or school when activating. No other discounts however will be given on the service. Only grandfathered plans and Even More contracted plans receive service discounts. I work in a T-mobile corporate store and do this all the time for students in our area. Can't beat those Even More Plus plans for the long term :)

cool. just ordered one. this definitely is the most expensive phone i've ever purchased. hopefully there won't be a better one than this for a damn long while, like the way iphone has been the ultimate phone for so long.

looking forward to easy syncing, simple wifi connectivity, the beautiful amoled screen, and fast response. hopefully battery life doesn't become too much of an issue.

i'm coming from symbian s60, btw.

I hope so too, switching from a 3GS. I think that after the batteries break in for about a week well see better times with the batteries.

Waiting until they come out with a Verizon CDMA model. For me, better coverage/call quality > simultaneous voice and data. Hurry the Hell up with the LTE already, Verizon, so I don't have to be forced into choosing.

I am SO friggin glad I didn't plop $$$ down on a Droid when they released... I mean, Come ON, man -
"Check out my uber-cool Google Experience DROID... I got it last week - it's the Shnizzle!! "
"Nexus One".
"W... T..... F..... Nooooooo!!!"

Consolation prize will have to be that Android 2.1 update, I guess.
I just hope that by the time the Nexus One shows up on Verizon's storefront steps, Motorola will have a new Droid 2 out with improved specs and a keyboard that doesn't completely blow.
I've tried every "virtual keypad" phone out there - hate them all.

Not just a little annoying hate, mind you - oh, no... more like the kind of mind-numbing hate that shuts down 75% of your mental capacity to logically reason as you smash that motherf@%#ing piece of S*#t into f@%#ing tiny pieces of shattered plastic and Goo with a sledge hammer like an angry chimp hopped up on Crack, Over and over and F@%#ing over again...
God.

Ok, I'm done here.
Seriously, New Droid or a Nexus with a decent keyboard. That is all.
:p

...If you will not be home, and you want the phone left at your door, yes. Leave a signed note that the courier can take with them. The phone will be left where you ask them to.

If you are not home and don't leave a note, the courier will leave a door tag stating they attempted delivery of your shipment...

I have had several things shipped via FedEx (and UPS) that required signatures and I never left anything on the door for them, yet they still just dropped off the package and ran. Some things have been over $700 and just sitting out there in the snow on the front steps. I hate when they do that.

...Anyone know if there's an activation fee for EM+?

Yep, $35

I was told by the store manager that EM+ does get it since it isn't prepaid. She said only the FlexPay plans do not receive the corp. discounts. I'll find out when my bills come. They added my company to the account during activation and printed out a few pages of into that showed 15% discount and no contract. We'll see in time I guess....

i have a question. it says you can buy it unlocked where you can "put your own sim card" in it. does this mean, if i buy it and want to take it/use it on TMo, i have to purchase a sim card or something? or does TMo provide me with one? does this phone come with a sim card? thats the only part that confuses me.

Well just go into a Tmo store (or call them) and sign up for the Even More Plus plan and they'll give you a sim card with your new phone number.

Go home, pop the SIM into the N1, and enjoy.

It comes with a sim card. I've been waiting 2 hours for T-Mobile activation...

Yes, if the shipper does not choose any of the Signature Required options then FedEx has the ability to leave/release those shipments at a residence. USP has the same SOP, and they've been doing it MUCH longer than FedEx has.

****. i missed the fkin delivery man by 20 min, hoping he'll call me back to arrange a local pick up...

btw, left a note signed saying to leave it the f- on my doorstep if i'm not there. that didn't work. u actually have to sign for the item. the note thing only works on the door tag he leaves after first attempt. so technically you can sign a note and have him leave it only on the second attemt.
