You can put your phone in airplane mode and then turn on wifi, if you want to use data and not calls, sms or mobile data. It works, I just double checked.

I tried using Juice Defender. It seems to work (only been using for a few hours so far). But when I go to Settings page, I seem to be only able to access the default setting. If I try to set to another -- aggressive or customized or advanced, it just goes back to default the next time I see the screen. And I cannot see the "controls" tab at all. When I press the menu button I get no response.
Is this normal behavior for JuiceDefender on the Optimus V?
ok so you put it into CDMA only and then put it right back to CDMA auto (PRL)? im not colling you wrong but im just gonna ask why would this work if youre putting it back how it was? if i missread it plz correct me! thanks!Don't really need to install the app to fix the problem, just do the following:
"To fix the issue, dial *#*#4636#*#* and it will load the testing screen. You do not have to press call. Select phone information. The fix is to press Menu and then "Select radio band". The process will then force close. Go back to Phone info and select "CDMA only" and then select "CDMA auto (PRL)"
This fixed my phone and now overnight it loses just 1% of battery. Got the info here: Excessive Battery Drain (Even On Standby) - Page 3 - Android Forums
HUGE drain on battery when searching for a 3G signal. Battery would drain in less than a day. It may be a bug in the phone.
I turn off 3G and use WiFi at home and work. Now battery lasts for days.
When I don't have WiFi I'll turn on the 3G and use it...then turn off 3G when I'm done.
To turn off 3G: Home>Settings>Wireless and Networks>Mobile Networks>Data Enabled.
Just uncheck 'data enabled' and the phone won't search for 3G and drain the battery.
It's a little incovenient...but otherwise the phone is great.
Yes, this is very useful. I keep it in the top right corner of my home screen, so it's an easy tap-tap-Home to turn data on/off in less than a second. (If it's in the top-right corner your thumb is perfectly positioned for the second tap.)There's a nice little widget someone else mentioned in this forum called "Data Enabler" that you can download for free that shortens the above process. I use it all the time. Just put the icon on your Home screen; tapping it takes you directly to the "Data Enabled" checkbox.
hey guys i have the lg optimus v and every two minutes that i use the phone, the battery percentage goes down by one percent and i have juice defender, advanced task killer and battery booster, any ideas why it does this?
Hello all,
There are days that my "phone idle" actually uses more battery than "cell standby". I use a Task Killer, but what I find out is that maybe 5 secs after I kill all the apps, some apps (that I don't open) will show up on the list, as if they open themselves up in the background!? Is this normal, or is there a way to stop these apps from self-opening? And can this be the "phone idle" that drains my battery? Thanks everyone!?
