Root Need help with flashing ROM Axura 2.2.9 (stuck on the final step)

Hey guys i was reading all post and you guys seem knowledgeable/friendly. I rooted my Samsung Vibrant, OCLF, and Set CPU. My quaurant score is 1600+ (fast but not where I would like it) I've tried flasing Axura 2.2.9 but I'm stuck with flashing the zip file. I'm using ROM manger to flash the ROM. Everytime I flash clockworkmod recovery, i get "failed verify signature", aborting task, blah, blah! I''m not sure how to correct this problem. Your help is greatly appropriated! Thanks guys!

A few things could be happening here. Number one. Have you disabled OCLF? If not. Do so. And then delete it and never ever ever use it again. Ever. Trust me. Next, are you sure you have a complete download of Axura? Maybe delete the .zip file you have and download the latest version in its place, and make sure the final file size matches what it says from the source you download from. Also are you 100% sure you are rooted? Double check, and maybe even flash your update.zip file one more time to make sure. Lastly, try deleting ROM manager and re-downloading it. Make sure when you click to flash CWM recover that you select the proper device as well. Doing this wrong, even once, can be a very bad thing. Let me know how this works out for you. Good luck.

Stiglogic thanks for the input my friend. I rooted my phone with the superoneclick software. So the phone is rooted (i have super user permissions) I'm getting the Axura 2.2.9 from Masters site himself (DevAndroid) So I'm confident that the zip is correct. As for OCLF, i actually like this app. It hasn't given me any trouble thus far. Now that you've mentioned it, i'm wondering if this is the reason why i keeping getting the "failed verify signature". I have the lag fix turned on. Could this be the reason why it will not flash?!?!

Great info dattack! Thanks for the link! I'm at work now but will definitely try this once I arrive home. One more question...i have OCLF lag fix turned on. Will i need to turn off and uninstall lag fix/ext2 in order to flash Axura 2.2.9? Which brings me to another question. What is "THE BEST/FASTEST ROM" available for the vibrant? I've read that Eclair ROM is the best/fastest...I've heard that Axura 2.2.9 is the best. Which is it??

I have found that the latest 2.2.1 ROMs are much faster than pretty much any of the 2.2 ROMs out. I am a big fan of EDT ROMs. Their 2.3 ROM is pretty fast too, but no voodoo yet, and it still has a few bugs. Nothing major, but still. I would recommend the latest version of Flagship. Also, if you have not tried Eugene's Deadhorse kernel, I suggest doing that as well. Disable any and all lagfix's before you do any of this. Also, do yourself a favor and go in to your application management and delete quadrant standard. If you really want good tests of your speed and functionality, try Antutu, and linpack. Those will give you accurate readings on what is going on with your device. Quadrant standard will not. I know you really like OCLF but the EXT2 binds will eventually degrade. It is a problem with binding over RFS. On top of that, it gives false speed readings when you run benchmark tests. You scores may be higher on EXT2, but you will be faster on JFS or EXT4.

Hey Mark i am running 2.3.1.2... my qustion is can i running the themes at the same time or do i need to remove the 2.3.1.2, then add the zip.theme? I'm new to the flashing!

Just flash the theme on top of the ROM. Yes, you run both at the same time. You flash it just like you would a ROM. Just make sure the theme is compatible with the ROM you're running or you could get into a boot loop.

FOr 2.2 roms:
axura
trigger 2.7
bionix v1.3.1?

For 2.2.1 roms
EDTs such as darkys, simply galaxy honey, loki?

For 2.3 roms
CM7
EDTs gingergbread ROM

Might want to stay away from the 2.3 roms for now until you are comfortable with flashing and such. The 2.3 roms are experimental right now. i don't want you to brick your phone. lol
I think the 2.2.1 are incredibly smooth and stable enough where it is my daily driver.
