"EVO 3D Oval Office"

Dude...drop it and talk about the phone already, we dropped it a few posts back. please leave the thread to talking about the phone. You even have your own thread to bitch about BSOD...

If only I had admin permissions on AF there would be a lot less people posting lol...my rooted evo has spoiled me. Can I get a blacklist or even a red one? haha
What do you mean I have my own thread to talk about Blue Screen? Dude, this IS that thread.

First of all, I didn't start any threads on Blue Screen or the Evo 3D.

Second of all, this thread was started by Blue Screen in an attempt to defend his credibility. If he is starting threads that basically say "I am trustworthy because..." then I have every right to post in that thread with my own arguments on the subject.

The purpose of this thread was Blue Screen explaining why he was wrong. It wasn't to talk about the Evo 3D. And if we're talking about why he was wrong, well Occam's Razor... He was full of crap, that's why he was wrong.

It really is pretty amazing that someone could throw out so many claims and be wrong on all accounts. The law of averages implies that he would have got at least one right, even if he fabricated them all.

We all want to get to the bottom of it, and find out what we're really going to have when release day is here. He made some statements, you called him out. The problem is the way you went about it.
When I post, i try to be as civil and level headed as I would be in face to face adult conversation. We appreciate you enthusiasm, but there's no need to get personal or be demeaning or condescending.
I can't stand keyboard warriors. I can personally guarantee you, BlackDynamite, that you would use a more civil tone if you were discussing this face to face with me or others on this board.
I thought that this thread was going to be free of all this negative garbage - are there no mods on this board?
LOL, you say you hate keyboard warriors and then you get all internet tough guy yourself. I can assure you, everything I have typed in this thread, I would be more than willing to say in person to you or anybody else.

Care to point out where I was demeaning or whatever? I said the dude was a troll, and full of it. And hey, all the evidence indicates that I am absolutely correct.

No no sir, you must be rooted as far as i know. then its just simply flashing a file.

Edit: Just saying it can be done on sense, im usually in the root forum, the evo 3D discussion brought me out of hiding.

Oh, okay. No worries. Thanks for explaining that...LOL. I'm sure I'll eventually take the time to root my phone and get it even more customized.

From what I've seen in different videos for the new Sense UI, they have more themes that also include different looks for the status bar and the rosie. Thing is, none of the videos show all the themes that are available, so hopefully once all the tech sites get their "tester" phones, they'll show the additions to the new Sense UI, including all the different theme looks.

Out of curiosity, I looked for videos of the newest android phones that are going to have the new sense and found this video of the Thunderbolt. The bottom rosie is rectangular shaped on this one, but early in the video the guy changes the scene, but the rosie stays the same, so maybe that's something that is separately customizable? Really anxious to see more videos on all the additional customization options for the new Sense.

You would need root. I can't believe you haven't rooted your phone!

The customization and optimizations are amazing.

Hahaha...I know, I know. As much as I'm on here, you'd think I would. Part of the hesitation is coming from my days as a diehard Windows Mobile guy...I tried a bunch of custom ROM's and what ended up happening, well, I almost bricked my phone and luckily found an OLD thread that helped me recover.

My main thing is, I don't want to mess it up and not know how to recover properly. Just haven't taken the time to read through all the Rooting info yet. I will likely do that at some point (possibly right before deciding on whether to upgrade to the EVO 3D or not).

I understand completely. I was the same way before I rooted my Hero. It's been a while since I rooted my EVO, but, I think they have damn near no-fail ways to root.

I won't try to sway you, but you would definitely enjoy it. If you ever decide to, just read, read and then do a little reading. You'll be fine.

Were you looking for something like the "Riptide" theme here?

[ROM]-1.5.10-EvoZoneHD-RIPTIDE-RED-BLUE-PURE - xda-developers

I tried it. The Rom is great, but it became a bit strange after a while. Having the notification bar be clear looked awesome on the home screen, but when you start using the web or other apps, it just looked strange.

I'm not concerned with 4G myself, but I can understand why people are. In my opinion, nothing to back it, just opinion ... I would think it would take a bit longer than 8 month or so to implement LTE on Sprint.

Even if they do get it implemented.. they still have to expand and by the time it actually reaches me.. I think it will be upgrade time for me anyway.

But, I'm not at all down playing your concerns. I do understand them.

The problem with thinking it'll take longer than 8 months is that there is no basis to say that it will take longer, or that it couldn't be done tomorrow. There are a lot of rumors floating around that it's essentially a small software update at the base stations to enable LTE...wouldn't think that would take long, and that's assuming that Sprint isn't already retrofitting and enabling (Leapfrog rumor) and just not telling us.

I completely understand where you're coming from about thinking that it won't matter for you since you'll likely be upgrading by the time it comes to market. The problem is, that's the opposite of me. I'm rocking a TP2 right now, which I got free as a replacement on my 8th trip in to get my original Touch Pro fixed (ugh...). I would like to upgrade to something new (like the Evo 3D), but need it as future proofed as possible, especially if LTE is right around the corner (phones possibly shipping with it in 2012).

I'm getting married this year, and my time of being able to whimsically buy every new piece of tech I want day one is probably going to have to come to a stop for a while. Again, this is my own problem, I know, but my guess is there are a lot more people out there who don't upgrade say, yearly (especially with the Premier change), and would be upset to have something change this quickly.

Wrong wrong wrong...THIS is the EVO 3D oval office thread, clearly says so in the title. There is a thread entitled BSOD please comment where YOU have posted recently, you can do all your bitching in there. THIS thread is to discuss/get more updates on the EVO 3D, hulu, netflix, etc. and hopefully anything else we would still like to see in general.

Yes BSOD started this thread but anyone can its not HIS thread. This thread has nothing to do with him explaining why he was wrong, just a side note of the OP. Not everyone needs to believe your way, not saying I even believe he is credible i just want to stay on topic and this being the EVO 3d section of the AF that topic is the EVO 3D and any further updates reagrding things we have not heard at CTIA i dont care where the updates come from BSOD or otherwise, some videos have already been posted and we have some info on the kickstand i was curious about so lets stick to that stuff and not be douches.

Oh no, someone else was I think. I'm on CM7 so I'm ..uh.. senseless so to speak. That's why I love root and love the EVO. So much dev support and so many excellent themes/roms/kernels.

Ive never flashed a clear status bar though i was curious. When you are browsing you see a section of your wallpaper at the top then?

Just wanted to chime in here on a comment I read in the " What features do you want on the Evo 2?" Thread:
Going with that I suspect this phone wasn't built in mind for current Evo owners as most of them will upgrade next year. This concides with the fact that Sprint changed up its Premier to only let you do an upgrade every 1 year for 10+ yr. Customers. Can't blame them in following the other carriers. Subsidizing is a huge cost but usually they make it back along with a profit over the contract.
This sounds about right to me. I had the Palm Pre, and it would have been due to be replaced this summer, as will a lot of Pre's I would guess. With the new 3D coming out, I can see this being the phone that will keep a lot of Pre owners in the Sprint fold.

BTW, I really loved my Pre, but when it broke Best Buy wasn't able to replace it, so they gave me the EVO 4G instead... Probably the best warranty replacement I have ever received! :D

Oh, and I will still be eligible for my upgrade this summer, which from what I have seen, I will be doing. The Processor and Memory upgrades are enough to make me want it, and the 3D stuff is just some very sweet icing on the cake.

That will be a huge decision maker for me, unlocked bootloader, and dev support if im going to get the evo 3d. With all its new features and speed I cant imagine the devs resisting the urge to play around with it. IM hoping our OG Evo devs move on to it. If they dont, I likely wont either.

Did you read the first post of this thread? The whole first post is Blue Screen explaining why he was wrong on all of his claims. You're saying nobody else is allowed to post on that subject?

Sorry man, that's how it is. You may not want the thread to be about this, but that is what it is about.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I'd like to know what I'm getting for my money and how usable it might be in the future; especially since their primer program has changed.

Sprint's current WiMax service is pitiful and they've shown no interest in expanding it or figuring out how to get better coverage in areas they already state they have coverage. Sprint has also stated that they are testing LTE so from the looks of it, Sprint will be going to LTE.

Basically it comes down to this... I want a new phone. I don't want to get a WiMax phone to find, b4 the years end, Sprint will go to LTE and start shipping LTE phone by 2012. Also, if I knew Sprint was going LTE and the EVO 3D have LTE capabilities, I'd have some reason to stay on Sprint. As it stands right now, Verizon is stating they will have 145 markets covered, with LTE, by end of year and we've seen their LTE implementation works... I'm hearing seamless hand offs from 3G to 4G and from tower to tower. Sprint's current Wimax has an issue with hand offs and so far, it seems only to be if one is stationary and standing outside....

Now that's why I want an LTE capable phone. I don't want to get stuck with the HD-DVD of 4G technologies, since I already got burned with HD-DVD.

I can agree with your concern.

But Sprint has not "officially" mentioned a switch to LTE. All is speculation, the only thing Sprint has confirmed is that they have a viable/cheap/easy solution for switching over to LTE.

Now without any official announcement of a switch to LTE, and Sprint still pushing WiMax, they aren't going to make any annoucement during a preshowing of the 3D about it having LTE, it isnt logical.

Im not saying that it is good that they didnt mention, but that is business and how it works.

We still have NO confirmation whether the 3D has a radio capable of WiMax and LTE yet. I would guess a tear down of the radio's or the FCC approval will prove it.

You will have time before buying/reserving the 3D to know if it does or doesnt.

This isnt the same as HD-DVD vs. Bluray.

Edit: I guess also being a premier Gold customer, it doesnt bother me if 2012 they have a new LTE Evo and the 3D isnt capable, I'd probably buy the new one any way. I get a new phone every year.

Haha. If you build it, they will come!

I'm thinking a few of the good EVO devs are salivating at the thought of working on the EVO3D. My only concern will be the future of AOSP roms on it... I think so much of it is tied into sense.

If sense is improved, I will use it tho. Less bloat and battery killing BS please HTC.

Apparently you have reading comprehension issues, I said yes he discussed why he was wrong but that was not the POINT of this thread, he just ran off on a tangent. And its only about that because you wont shut the **** up, cant you see no one in here wants to discuss his credibilty anymore? damn move on, it was sooo yesterday lol. If only i was a super user here, i would remove blackdynamite like the sprint nascar app lol.

No. It's been a while, but as I recall, if you browse the web, it's almost as though you're browsing at full screen, except the icons in the status bar are now sitting on top of the web page. That's why I say it looks weird. Again, with the right wallpaper, it looks fantastic on the home screen, but when you browse the web, you see it sitting on top of the web page.

Yeah but you are rooted, you can remove bloatware, flash kernels, and improve your battery. Yes you probably shouldnt have to but I like to anyhow, makes me feel on the cutting edge lol. I like sense, the only thing i didnt like was not going landscape on the homescreen but sense 2.0 fixes that.

Oh, got it, yeah that does sound weird. may be hard to view on some apps too depending on the colors and stuff

So dude starts a thread with the entire first post explaining why he got all of his claims wrong. He then directs everyone to this thread in all the threads that were talking about his credibility. And yet you are the expert on what this thread was supposed to be about? And I'M the one with reading comprehension issues? lol. I guess you didn't comprehend the first post in this thread.

There is a whole forum for talking about the Evo 3D. This thread, however, was started by Blue Screen as an explanation for why none of his claims came to fruition. And if he is allowed to talk about it, then so is everyone else. Especially in the thread he started with a post on that very subject.

Really maybe im missing something...Does the title say BSOD explains why he was wrong? Or does it say 3D oval office? Does it not say at the end that the thread is about giving updates about the EVO 3D or does it say, lets talk about me being a liar or not?

Im done arguing with you, my god i would rather hear from BSOD, you are the worst troll of the two. You are bad mouthing BSOD in every thread, you have turned them all into threads about his credibility, my god i cant escape your incessant whining.

Let it go already

Let what go? lol

If you want to talk about something else, start a thread on that subject. So far, this thread has way more posts about Blue Screen's credibility than anything else. And, again, the first post was made by Blue Screen and it only talks about the reasons for why he missed on all his claims.

There is a whole Evo 3D forum if you want to talk about something else. But don't put me on blast for making posts that are consistent with the topic of the first post (and majority of posts) in this thread.
