I downloaded Quickoffice months ago as it was free to Captivate owners. Apparently, there is a bug after updating to Froyo that causes Quickoffice to be renamed "This file is read-only" It also cannot be uninstalled after updating. I contacted Quickoffice support and this is their response:

Dear XXXXX,

Quickoffice for Captivate devices is available on Android Market for free downloading. The version is published there as "Quickoffice for Captivate". For some reasons the pre-installed version is not working correctly on some devices after they are upgraded to Froyo. Sometimes device resetting corrects this issue. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this issue can cause you.

We also have a new release of paid Quickoffice Pro for customers with Android devices with 2.0-2.3.3 OS version.
You can learn more about this version on our website Quickoffice Quickoffice Pro for Android Quickoffice Pro is also available on Android Market now.

Please feel free to contact me with any additional questions. I'll do my best to assist you.

Have a wonderful day,

XXXXX

I had the same experience with the icon after installing 2.2. The app worked but the icon was annoying.

Quickoffice support emailed me the apk file (not the pro version-but the same stock version) and I sideloaded it (I'm running stock 2.2). That worked great but then I had two copies of quickoffice on my phone. I decided to to a factory reset (for other reasons) and voila! the icon from the stock quickoffice app came back. So I deleted the version customer support sent.

I've been running Pro before and after Froyo update... no problems... runs fine.

I fixed this same problem by factory resetting my phone (hard reset). It will correct the issue and you will still have FroYo. Hope this helps. Oh yeah this is factorg reset... *** all files and settings will be lost on the internal phone storage***

Well it's not worth it to me to hard reset just so that Quickoffice is named that instead of "This file is read-only." Quickoffice customer care says that this is a known issue and the only fix is a hard-reset or to upgrade to the pro version. How convenient for them. I can't even uninstall it now.
