I just got my TB today. After charging I decided to see how the Wireless Hotspot works. I have tried 3 laptops and a couple of old Android devices and none of them will connect to my TB. So after that I Rooted my phone and install Wireless tether and I get the same thing. This is a deal breaker for me if I can't tether my laptop to my phone. Anyone else having issues or know what I need to do to get it to work?

Both work for me. Did they activate the hotspot feature for you. When I bought my phone, they asked if I wanted it activated and that it was free till may 15th. It may not have been activated...

Either way Wireless Tether should work fine but it doesn't. Not sure what I am doing wrong either. I know on my Droid Incredible I had to use an older version for some reason. I have tried the same version and also the most up to date version from the market.

Just checking. I know I tried the Hotspot while I was at home and was using the phone on my WiFi network. I had to turn WiFi off in order to get the Hotspot to work.

Sorry I couldn't help. Have you tried it with and without encryption?

What settings have you changed to try to get it to work?

I have it wide open and still can't connect.

Well I think I figured out the problem. There's nothing wrong with the phone. My work is jamming any signal that broadcasts in the building that doesn't belong to them. Although I'm still not sure why it works on my Moto Droid and Incredible with an old version of Wireless Tether and not on my TB. Gonna try and get a wireless N dongle and see if I can force it to use the N band. Nothing in this building is on the N band.
