I don't think it's a girl's phone, but then I wouldn't be the type to make fun of a person for having a girl's phone. I fyou are worried about your friends, I;d just see what they think about it. If they are going to make fun of you, it will likely happen whether the phone is "designated" a girl's phone or not, simply because of how they perceive it, right?

if you are soooo worried about this...
i might suggest you re-evaluate your self confidence!
dont let what others might or might not do.. affect your simple desires and enjoyment. a phone purchase, should not be one that is so effected by pier pressure.
if you where thinking about getting pink leather pants.. then I would say.. you got other issues.

Motorola charm - I'd consider it one of the most boring designed phone.
Anyway, there can be a lot done to personalize a phone to be more "girl friendly".
For example, you can look for a phone with a good design like SE Xperia Arc.
I've played with it last week and it really is a beautiful phone.

Phones are phones. That's it. They're not "chick" or "non-chick". If you're so insecure that buying any product defines your anything about you then selecting a "non-chick" phone is the least of your problems.

It's a texting phone. That form factor is optimized for people who are going to spend most of their time texting/IMing/Facebook messaging. I don't see how that equates to "chick phone", unless you assume only girls text, which is nonsense.
If you're super paranoid about color or stuff, get one with a color you like and tell your friends to stuff it. If they're going to be that childish, upgrade your friends at the same time you upgrade your phone.
Whether or not it's a good phone is a separate matter entirely.

I started to get worried that my lg shine plus is a girls phone cause it seems like everyone in the shine plus forum was there because their wife our girlfriend has the shine plus. so when my girlfriend said she missed having a keyboard in her phone I got her to trade me now I'm using the desire thatI got her for her birthday. Now that I showe her swype I might have to trade back.
