nds4droid now available

I think that this guy definitely deserves props so far. I look forward to purchasing it when it works for the Galaxy Tab. Good work so far Ikari. By the way, I would recommend a different name, as when I first saw nds4droid, I thought of Zodtdd and psx4droid. I like AndroiDS.

That's what I was going to suggest not the name but to change the name. I like your suggestion for the new name.

Pokemon diamond and Pokemon Platinum it runs but is slow and i saw some improvements in the new release.
Ikari your doing a good job keep up the good work.

Also for the guys that cant run some roms they are maybe corrupted. Try redownloading from another source.

BTW im using my HTC EVO i have a question when this emulator hits its final stages are we stilll going to be able to run it with an android device with 1Ghz proccessor??
Or do we need a faster phone ??

Alright, i tried Yoshi's Island DS on the last version, and you're right, it's very playable.
considering the big improvement in just a week, i'm sure given time, it will run perfect.

I still couldn't get poke'mon Platinum/Heartgold to run on the Galaxy S though.
They're not corrupted, they work in an emulator on my PC.

I got heartgold and soulsilver to run on my evo..but they are so slow thats its almost unplayable. Its nice to know that they run at all though haha. And when I try to save it reboots my device..i dont know though if others have had that problem or if its just my phone though.

I havent got a chance to try those 2 games but with the other pokemon games platinum and diamond i saved them it doesnt reboot. Also i tried pokemon black/white but doesnt work.

My hat is off to you for making a working NDS emulator for android. I would have no problem purchasing this app if it worked for the viewsonic gtablet. Someone mentioned earlier that the touch buttons don't work with this app on the gtablet. I was wondering if it works now? Or if there will ever be compatibility with the gtablet? I'd be awesome to play NDS games on a big screen. :D

Hi Ikari,

Thought is give some feedback. I have two games, Super Mario and Mario Kart. Both run like slide shows but thats ok for now i guess.

I think you should allow us to select a directory to find roms, that way it doesn't have to search and take up time every time you launch the app.

The touch screen on the bottom does not work. I don't know if you've implemented the touch screen functionality yet but for the two games I tried so far nothing happens.

Also since the game runs sooo slowly, it will be hard to tell if there will be any improvements when you release updates since there might be one or two fps improvements and our eyes can't detect it. So I suggest you include the option for a fps counter in the settings.

I tried the Tiger nds emulator as well and I find the performance very similar. I don't know if our devices this gen will ever be able to fully emulate the NDS but im sure hoping they can. Hopefully you don't only focus on just the dual core phones because there's plenty of us with single core phones. Im using a Desire HD which is still considered powerful.

Anyway i look forward to more updates and hopefully you can squeeze more performance out.

edit: forgot to mention something else. The save and load function is broken. It can be a nuisance when testing because I have to go through all the intros again each time play.. an I can't skip them.

Cheers

SupremeBeaver, in order to use the touch screen (as of now) you have to first hide the interface, by pressing the button on the top left.
this will make the bottom screen touch enabled.

Thanks that did the trick. Lol. Touchscreen does work. Haha. All this time I didn't know.

Edit: Works good on my VS gtab. Pokemon Plat runs a little slow but it's playable.

So, for those of you that have downloaded this and are using it, would say that even 1 or 2 games are "playable"? I don't mean, will they load, can you interact with them, etc.

I mean would you actually use this emulator to play them on a bus or a plane and have enough functionality to not be frustrated with the emulator?

N64oid got rate bombed by people complaining that not every rom under the sun worked, and they were paying $6 for it. So the developer pulled it from the market.

But my opinion was that even though I only found like 6 roms that it played well, it was worth $6 for those games.

I would gladly pay $6 if I could get even one or two useable games out of it.

Thanks for any feedback available.

BTW, I am running the Evo 4G, with UD3.3(similar to CM7), SavagedZen kernel, and overclocked to 1.2ghz.

Yes there is one game i tried which is somewhat playable. Yoshi's Island. I would guess it runs around 15 fps.. somewhere there. Hard to tell really but it runs much better than others i tried.

N64oid runs more games at full speed than this emulator. In fact, most of the games that I cared about played great on my tablet. This emulator has the same potential as N64oid so that's why I decided to invest in it's development. Would I say that I got my investment back, I don't think so. None of the games I care about play at full speed yet but I don't believe they are unplayable.

Games that I have tried-

Brain Age- Slow (not playable)
Pokemon Plat and Pearl- A little slow (playable)
Mario Kart- Slow (playable)
Nintendo Dogs- doesn't work.
