i just read that story myself....i'll believe it when i see it. Honestly i'm really
not that worried about it now. <---------------Thats how much i like the new GingerBread

Trophy,

I have to agree with you on this one. Stock Gingerblur is good for me. The only think I'd like to add to it are scrolling widgets for my schedule like sense has. Other than that, the only real reason I still want root is to enable AutoKill. Other than that, my fiddling with roms has decreased since GingerBlur. Gotta say, it's superior.

Speaking of fiddling with ROM's (thought I was done too, well until Apex 2.0 stable comes out)... my uncle gave me his spare OG Droid and I've been going nuts with it... CM7 does rock btw. Would love to see it on the Droid X, and they do have it ported to the Milestone using Moto's stock kernel. But with all that we have done with the kernel inits we aren't too far from what CM7 is. Oh, just as a pat on the back to myself to use this think I had to remap the "down volume" button to the back button because the small area that the back button is on the screen is dead. MIUI is nice too btw, but feels too much like an iPhone for me.

My friend has the EVO 4G and tired CM7 on it..........he said it "sucked"........didn't really say why, he just didn't like it....to each their own I suppose.

yup don't get me wrong. I do want Root because of some of the apps i like to use. But i see no real reason for me to worry if the bootloader gets cracked or not.

Verizon is getting ready to release the Samsung Charge. It looks good too.

Samsung really has good products, not just phones either. And by declaring that they aren't locking the bootloaders they instantly climb up in my book. Benchmark scores from awhile back show that the Orion processor is really a powerhouse and not much beats the Super AMOLED plus screens. I just need them to release the S2 for Verizon around August or sooner.

LG is also a great manufacturer. My last two phones before my Eris were a Chocolate and the Decoy. Both were great and really stood up to the wear and tear a teenager could put on them. The G2X looks to be a mighty awesome phone and already has a big following.

Hopefully some of my favorite Developers like Jrummy, Fabulous, Birdman, Kejar and the like will all pick the same phone so i can continue to use their ROMS.

and contrary to previous posts, Fabulous got a Nexus S, not a G2X
