Tethering is inherent to Android now. If Sprint messes with it, then you don't really have a Nexus S. What you've got is just another fragmented phone that won't get updates in a timely fashion.

I'm not saying Sprint is tampering with the Nexus S. I'm saying they might charge you for using the wireless tether above and beyond your regular plan charges.

Example #36745 why rooting and flashing a ROM to your phone is never a smart idea. Good luck to him trying to get a new one.

It's not that it's never a good idea. That's silly. But being the first to mess around with the phone will always be a dangerous proposition.

no being the first one to test a phone thats not out, without you backing up your stock files, and flashing a gsm radio is dangerous.. apparently some of the nexus s roms on xda bundle radios in their roms.. i have no idea why

Why would he even try when this is a Wimax one when common sense should tell you it's not exactly the same when it comes to things like rooting. Once it comes out tomorrow I'm sure there will be different threads as to how to root and etc. He had a happy trigger finger

root method is the same, as is recovery. the rom has minor tweaks to it as does the kernel.. in theory either one should be able to use the others rom/kernel.. but what he didnt know was the rom inculded a radio.. thats a boo boo on the rom devs.. some people get better signal with certain ones, some get better battery life you shouldnt force your users to upgrade

So your saying the Nexus S4G can use the same method as the original one to simply root?

Please post some photo samples at full resolution when you can! Indoor / outdoor, flash / no flash, etc. Video sample @ 720p would be great as well.

I was just on the Best Buy website looking to upgrade my phone. When it showed the different plan options, adding Sprint Mobile Hotspot was included for $29.99/month.

Can someone tell me the easiest method to root? Point me in the right direction over at XDA which method to use please! I've had my Hero rooted forever and I just want to use titanium back up tomorrow to move my apps over! thanks.

Or better yet, why the urgency to brick a stock Google experience phone owned for a whole 2 hours. How about actually using it first.

I suppose if you ask about the hotspot their official answer is that it costs money. If you say, "Well what if I don't pay and try to use it?" They will probably reply, "The hotspot feature is an additional charge", without really answering your question.

I am guessing it is a minority of people who even use the hotspot feature on a phone and another minority of people who know what a pure google phone is. They probably aren't losing too much money here because the people who know about it and don't want to pay for it will root their phone anyway.

No way - is this true?! 720p video capture is a de facto standard feature on pretty much every decent smartphone out today!
