I gotta say... WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?????

I rarely see positive threads around here so I figure'd I'd make this.

I've had my TB for 2 full days and in that time, been 100 miles north to south, in several different buildings from small stores to big warehouses. I've lost 4g when in a freezer inside a grocery store and in a restaurant that gives every single person reception problems since I've gone there for the past 3 years regardless of carrier.

The battery is identical to the Incredible. While not "good", its certainly acceptable for what it puts out.

I had 1 problem, when on the charger, it was a little slow to respond, when I took it off, it was back to normal.

I'm really not sure about all the negative hype some people here are giving the phone. Every product will have errors and problems but man, this phones amazingly fast and after messing around with it for 5 minutes felt like the Incredible I LOVED for a year, became dead to me.

The only reason people go with the iPhone over the higher end Android phones are because they're biased, deaf or dumb.

This phone and everything surrounding it is phenomenal, HTC, I love you!!!

PS; anyone know the skype program that has video chat on it? I looked on the market and only see the stock skype and skype mobile that says it doesn't work on my phone and video chat will, soon.

While I understand that you are in total love with your phone (as am I), also realize that alot of what you mentioned is a VERY real problem for alot of people. I'm glad your not having near the problems that many others are, and I hope you never do.

Point is, battery life on a phone like this isn't a problem. You know what you're getting before you get it. Sure the stock battery isn't going to last 2 weeks but people make it out like it only lasts 30 minutes while its sitting idle.

Correction, battery life isn't a problem to YOU. For many people it's not to much to ask for their battery to last for more then 5 hours, without having to pop it on the charger. If you are fine charging your midway through the day, then great. Some people don't have that option. I'm glad you haven't been plagued with issues.

Maybe it's not a problem for you. I got an extended battery yesterday, put it in and let it charge overnight. Took it off at 5:00 this morning (it's now 11:55), and I've had to put it on the charger twice. Between low signal and six reboots so far, it's sucking the battery as fast as I can charge it. Now, on the weekends when I'm at home (stronger signal), if I get lucky and have no reboots, the battery life is fine. But while your 30 minutes is an exaggeration, there was one day last week my stock battery was literally sucked dry in slightly over two hours.

Hows it working out for you and your Nexus/Inspire phone?

The Nexus is nice, with plain old Android. It _is_ a Samsung, but at least it doesn't have the Samsung software. Battery life does okay, it can get me through the day. It doesn't have the same solid feel of the Inspire/TB, and has that weird Samsung side-mounted power switch.

The Inspire is great. Battery life is excellent, almost as good as my iPhone 4, and it never reboots. It's what the TB should be.

If your battery only lasts 5 hours you're doing it wrong

I can answer your whole post with a very simple answer and it covers every bolt owner.

YMMV;).

Just because your phone preforms great. Doesnt me person B phone should do the same. I have had issues that no one else had. SOme people has a reboot problem. Some people dont. Out of the ones that has the reboot problem. Some people phones reboot more frequently than the other people.

Nah man, not with the Thunderbolt. Every day with this phone is an experience. Sometimes great, sometimes downright confusing. I've had days with reboots, then I'll go weeks without a reboot. I've had excellent battery life, horrible battery life, and everything between. All the time trying to figure out why it does what it does. My wife has the Bolt also. Our two phones do not behave even remotely the same. Mine switches between 3G and 4G like a champ - hers doesn't. She is lucky to pick up 4G ever. I've seen hers on two bars of 3G while mine has full 4G signal.

There is no rhyme or reason, the phone is simply inconsistant.

But I still love it. :) I am forced to have an actual relationship with this thing. Oh, we have our ups and downs, but we love each other regardless.

I wasn't necessarily speaking of myself, just the general population that says their phone pulls 5 hours max. I assure I am doing everything correctly. ;)
I got a Seidio 3200 battery and case and use juiced battery app and can get 14 hours of hard use and still be at 45% battery charge at 11pm. My phone would reboot all night long while on ac charge untill I set the wifi to switch on ond off when in range and the reboots stoped by 90%.

1st; battery solo widget. Works great.

2nd; menu - settings - power - power saver settings - make sure all are checked.

3rd; add widget - settings - mobile network.

When you aren't using the internet/email/gps, why have it on?

My phones been off the charger since 7 (4+ hours), and used every 10ish minutes for txt and looking around the market now n then when people talk about apps... still @ 90%.

Try it, all 3 are huge battery savers.
