Sorry for the question, but I have been away from phone updates for a couple months now and feel lost/way behind. I am running Apex 1.4.1 on my X today. Use free wireless tether every day. What could/should I upgrade to that would still have wireless tether. 1.4.1 has been great for me, so if staying here is the best options that is great as well. Thanks!!

well wireless tether is no longer in the market, so if your looking to keep it, i would back it up with titanium backup and restore it at anytime
right now apex 2.0.0 rc2 is one of the fastest roms out there
we also have cm7 for the dx now, however its quite buggy, but if you want you should upgrade to gb and then upgrade to the apex gb version

im not sure, it might, if it doesnt, he can always use pdanet if he wants to connect to the internet, but it will not be wireless

It will with some tweaks. I think TBH has a tether fix that must be flashed. There are plenty of threads out there that walk you through the process, so I'm not going to repeat that information here.
