choosing a droid

:(Hi Everyone...I need help, A LOT of help, choosing a droid...I have Verizon...

So I am a devoted blackberry user for the past 2 yrs. I used to have a curve 8330, and loved it. I was due for an upgrade, but was biding my time and weighing my options with BB vs Droid...then my bb broke and I was forced to upgrade.
I tried the X - the first one I got had a blown speaker and the second one constantly froze. The reps at the Verizon store by me were awful and rude...they wouldn't help with answering my question about the different droids, and they didnt seem to believe me that 2 droid X's in a row gave me such problems because it was such a "superior" phone. I got flustered and after having the issues with the second Droid X, I just decided to go back to what I knew - BB.
So now I've had the bold 9650 and although I love it, I'm bored ad I feel like I need to evolve and embrace droid.

E-mail and msging are the most important things to me. On the X, even setting the email fetching thing at 15 min, it would take hours to recieve email on my phone. That really upset me, as I am used to having email pushed to my phone instantly with BB. I use aol and hotmail. I prefer to not switch to gmail. I dont' mind touch screen, and battery life is super important to me too. If anyone can make some suggestions, I would really appreciate it. All my friends have X's and love them - but I am hesitant because I had such a bad experience with it, and also, it was a little too bulky for me.

Thanks and sorry this is so lenghty

4g or 3g?

If you want a 4g phone and battery is important to you, then I would choose the Droid Charge. I've heard great things about their battery life.

Android has always been flaky when it comes to email support. Other than gmail, there's no guarantee that your other pop or imap accounts will work 100% of the time. Well that's my opinion any ways, take it for what it is worth.

Thanks to you both for the prompt replies! :)

@ Dylo - 4g doesn't really matter to me.Thank you for the charge suggestion - I haven't looked into that one yet, and will get to researching.

@ My Name Is Too Long - I did try setting up a forwarding system to a gmail acct, as from what I have read, that is the best way to go. Pop works great with my hotmail account, but very poorly with my AOL acct, which is my primary and has been for years,so I really don't watch to have to switch over. The POP3 for AOL would fail after an hour or two. I'd delete the account and re-add it, and the same thing would happen. From what I have rd at gmail, this seems to be an ongoing and unaddressed issue. AOL for some odd reason doesnt have any options for mail fwding, which is ridiculous IMO...so BB really has me hooked due to the awesome email service. Other than that and BBM though, I'm quite bored with the BB.

did you get the bold from verizon at a discount?
you may not be able to get another new phone for a while without paying full retail

you are correct - but I am on a family plan and someone else on the plan has an upgrade they dont want to use, so I plan to transfer their upgrade to my line:D Hopefully I can sell the BB on ebay or something. It is in mint condition, as it's only 2 mos old.
