I got handcent and thought it was all good and dandy until I stopped receiving MMS after a while. I had backed up all the apps so I thought it would be cool to remove messaging to clear up space. Now I want to restore and titanium poo poo won't restore. Hell I even let it stay on overnight while I slept. I read about others on here having the similar problems restoring using that app. Read thru more posts and someone had uploaded a mms.apk file and I downloaded that and put it on the SD card and tried to install. Phone says application not installed. What the hell do I do now?

Edit,

DLed ES file explorer, can somebody upload the .odex for mms. Is that different from the stock messenger? I have the MMS.apk.

I do not believe that mms.apk, if its the one I posted needs the odex.
You just need to copy or move the entire apk to the /system/app folder using the file explorer. Make sure you toggle read right permissions.

Then just reboot your phone it will build the cache it needs and you should be good.

Awwwwwwww shhhhhhhhhhh- :D

Went into ES file explorer settings and saw some actions for root users and enabled it and it let me psate the mms into the system/app. Turned off phone, brought it back up, my messaging is back! Screw you handcent! Thanks for the help, repped and thanked!

Wait, there's no rep on this forum...just thanks.

If someone sends you a mms does it go to your Boost Media Mail site? but not to your phone?

I'm not sure about inbound mms but for outbound I tried sending one to my facebook account and it ended up in the Boost Media Mail site and that's the last time I used mms. I now use the default gallery upload to send my pics. If anyone knows how to send mms that doesn't end up at Boost please let me know. Thanks!

I can no longer use the speech to text feature and I cannot upload pics to facebook. I am going to reset to factory settings and reflash. Will I still be able to get all the factory apps even if I deleted some using titanium backup?

Every app included in shabby mod will be installed back to your phone yes. You can look through the rom/app directory of shabby mod to see what's in it.
