Help Battery glitches

Hi

I'm experiencing some weird behaviour on my SG2 - related to the battery.

Yesterday, the phone crashed and locked into a screen showing the battery and a flashing thermometer warning. The battery wasn't overheated - in fact it wasn't even warm.

The only way I could 'unlock' the phone was by connecting it to charger. However, once it's fully charged - the 100% charge icon in the notifications bar doesn't go away.

If I power off - I get the same locked warning screen.

Any ideas? It sounds like the battery is shot, doesn't it? I should maybe get it replaced as it's still under warranty.

Thanks for any useful feedback.

Sounds more like a firmware problem... mis-reporting your battery condition and charge.

I would be inclined to do either a reset or reflash your ROM before blaming the battery.

Hope this helps! :D

OK - any chance you could explain how I do either of these 2 suggestions? Thanks.

Factory Reset (wipes all data from phone)

Settings > Privacy > Factory data reset... this should not affect the SD memory in the phone or your SDCard. I would not recommend an Automatic restore as you might find that you are restring the problem.

Rooting and flashing latest firmware (KG1) see here:-

[11.07.2011][CF-Root v4.0] KE2/7/8, KF1/2/3/4, KG1 - su+bb+CWM4 - xda-developers

Hope this helps. :D
