So I have had my Thunderbolt since launch, on my thrid one which after updates and whatnot works perfectly!! however I have come to the conclusion that Verizon has the best Motorola Android phones, their HTC selection seems ok and HTC seems to have better quality phones on Sprint and T-mob... what you guys think? I think its really the truth.. I mean look at the moto Atrix on ATT, its kind of crappy, the OG Droid and Droid X I both ownded and they were really really well made and worked great.. HTC EVO 3D and Sensation on Sprint and T-Mob are amazing..

Motorola also seems to know what they are doing as far as what size of battery to put in the device to get a resonable days worth of life out of the device.. I do like HTC sense UI better and don't really mind motoblur, don't really care about the looked bootloader either.. Motorola also has some of the best accesories out there.. ugh.. too bad the thunderbolts battery sucks. I love it, it works great, but its time for a Dual Core 4G LTE device that I hope works better and doesn't have a lower battery life. But like I said motorola knows what size of battery that needs to go in the device... Android 4 evaaaaaa!!1!!11 lol

The first dual core LTE phone is bound to have issues of it's own. No phone is perfect. I refuse to buy anything from Motorola after the Xoom upgrade fiasco so I'll leave my opinions about the Bionic at the door step. That being said there are 3 phones that are coming soon that have caught my interest. The SGSII (ONLY if it's LTE), the HTC Vigor and the Nexus Prime. I love HTC phones and also love AOSP so my decision will be either the Vigor or Prime based on specs. Depending on when those two are announced I may get a SGSII in the mean time to hold me over.

SGSII does look nice, however Im not to thrilled with TouchWiz... its really not polished all that well, and it seems like it won't be on VZW, but I guess it could go all carriers, never heard of Nexus Prime.. i'll have to check that out. As far as moto issues with the Xoom, that was a tablet and they have yet to eff up a Moto phone on Verizon, so I think what I'll do is wait a few weeks to see how it looks and performs, then make a decision.. Thanks for your input Worm

I loved the OG Droid, got the droid 2 global and my love for motorola went away. I need root access and a good dev community for my phone, it just isn't the same without it. The bionic will not be without issues, which is probably why it hasn't been released yet, too many issues. The only thing I miss about moto phones is the feeling that my phone is bullet proof and a nice loud tinny speaker on the back.

ugg, have you used the droid 3 or DX2? i have to be honest, 4G on that (basically what the bionic is going to be) is not going to pull me away from the Thunderbolt.
while duel core is great and all, it really didn't seem to make the phone any faster than my Droid X was. plus the screen.....oh that QHD, screen, its actually TERRIBLE. ghosting, pixelated, choppy...i just dont get it. it would drive me nuts. i thought the reviews were just blowing it out of proportion, but they were right, that screen is just terrible.

now i know motorola phones are known to have pretty good battery life...my DX was great. but it only had a 1450mah battery where the TB has a 1400 mah battery. just wait until the bionic comes out, hopefully they will throw in a 1700mah battery, otherwise it will be a disaster battery wise, just like the TB.

current phones (and even ones coming soon) are not enough to pull me away from my TB. give me an extra battery and i am good to go.
i am still waiting for my 4.5" super LCD 720P quad core phone :)

One of the original issues with the Bionic were at random the phone would pull up explicit (porn) websites whether browsing or not. There was no rhyme or reason for why or when it would happen, but supposedly it has been fixed

@yeahha, don't forget that the Incredible did stop a bullet a while back. Some guy had his phone in his inside jacket pocket and someone shot at him. The phone took the bullet like a champ and probably saved his life

Why would they fix that? Talk about moto nerfing devices :D

I didn't hear about that, most my news comes from CNN and they made some sort of deal with apple that 50% or more of the tech new would be about the iphone

I read that too but I have to wonder how much validity there is to that information.

I loved my OG Droid, but, I've had WAY too many other Motorola phones that were a POS. I think I'd rather stick with the TBolt than try and live on a hope and a pray for the Bionic. I'm sure it will be a great phone (at some point), but I'll pass probably.

Sounds like all you need is a better battery solution for your ThunderBolt. I have two spare batteries (1400 2750 mAh) and two wall chargers. I almost never need to use the 2750 battery but have it for when I'm travelling or at all day academic meetings in convention centers. You could probably get by with a couple of cheapy spares and wall charger for $15 on eBay if you don't want to invest much money before your next phone. If you don't want to go the cheap route, Verizon will sell you an OEM spare for $20.

The original Bionic was a complete failure insfar as it was cancelled and replaced with another device that still has not been launched. Moto has yet to succeed with a 4G LTE device so I would definitely lump the 1st Bionic and the Xoom in the same category in that respect.

There was a time when I was looking closely at the original Bionic and then the 2nd Bionic, but now I definitely will not jump on the Bionic. Both the Samsung Nexus Prime and the HTC Vigor will be a step up and not that much later than the Bionic, especially for those of us with the ThunderBolt.

Nexus Prime is on my radar. You think it will end up on Verizon? I hope so.

I'd wait till other phones come out. The specs released for the bionics didn't seem too impressive given all the hype it's gotten. There are better phones coming out in the upcoming months. It's a damn shame the galaxy s2 won't be lte or released soon.

but isn't it basically the droid 3? my friend got one and he said its like the best phone out right now
