I've been looking around the web for android downloads and can't find them.

I have an old phone for which I want to download froyo and a new one that I want to put ice cream sandwich on asap after release.

They are both Google phones so I don't have to wait for the carrier and just want the raw thing without any kind of modification.

I don't know why these things are so hard to find and why it has to be a great mystery, but all I can do is shrug: /

The op has a flawed view of how the android os works. Unlike windows or Mac, there is not a single software you can download from google onto your phone. The software must be tailored for your specific phone. In order to install this software called a ROM, you must first root your phone. This is similar to jailbreaking an iPhone. Once you root your phone you will have administrator access to the phone. The way to root each phone is different. If you let us know what phone you have we can direct you to a place where you can find information on rooting it. Then you must find a ROM and flash, that is, install it. For more information I would check xda-developers.com forum. Or you could find a YouTube tutorial on how to root your phone.
