Gotta go back to to stock cause my samsung is having the search button issues and it has to go back for warranty. Odin 1 click isback to stock for AT&T phone, and the one for Rogers, is confusing me to all hell. [STOCK ROMS] i896 Rogers 2.1 and 2.2 Warranty ROM Remove ATT boot, no dbdata error!! - xda-developers

Can anyone clarify this for me, im a little lost, they said to go back to stock AT&T bootloaders, then to re-flash the Rogers stock rom?

Sorry, if someone could toss this into the Root/roms section plz. Thanks

Edit: i got most of it sorted out, but im looking for the 512 PIT file and cant find it. They said it came with ODIN, but i dont see it there in the file, (all it was a .exe file)

Hi,

I am also looking for the steps to get back to either 2.1 or 2.2 stock. Currently I am on S7. Please someone provide all the steps required to get back to stock.

Tried ODIN3(ver 1.0), once cappy is in download mode and phone shown in ODIN window, clicked "Start"(with default selections), I see the following, but never get to stock.

<ID:0/020> Added!!
<ID:0/020> Odin v.3 engine (ID:20)..
<ID:0/020> File analysis..
<ID:0/020> Get PIT for mapping..
<ID:0/020> Firmware update start..
<ID:0/020> Removed!!

Missing any steps ?

Please help.

Thanks,
Rishi_Sanju

After about an hour and a bit, bricked my phone, but got it back into download mode to be able to reflash the stock FW. S7 is now reinstalled after about 2 hours of work total. I hope i NEVER have to do this again. S7 is now booting up. Well see what happens with my search button issue, hopefully that goes away as others have had the same issue and it dissipated after a stock re-install. I'll keep you guys posted.

10 minutes after going back to S7, the issue continues. I'll be getting a new handset i guess...
