Root A question for anyone using synergy ROM, or anyone who can help.

I installed synergy rom a few days ago and it had been working great but all of a sudden today every time I try and use an app it just force closes. Some work for longer than others but all of them force close within 2 minutes of trying to use it.

Sounds like a wipe/reload is the only real option. Or try Nils newest version of Sense 3.0...Business 2.1 is the stuff. I've had great reliability with every one of Nils roms and he frequents this forum if questions arise. That's not to downplay Incubus, he's a Helluva dev as well.

Yeah wipe doesn't really help so I wanted to switch ROMs. I was actually looking at some of Nils but I really wasn't sure which one to try?

Is there any way to keep my wallpaper and ringtones and various other settings when I flash the new ROM? Or do I just have to set it all up again?

My advice is set it all up again when changing roms altogether.

For the future though, once you get a new rom all set up and your settings are all intact, do a nandroid backup. Then make sure you have auto backup set up on Titanium at least once per week. If things ever go south like this again, nand back to the initial configuration then restore all missing apps and app data in Titanium. That'll make short work of these little debacles and you don't have to set up squat.

I did and tried restoring to one but this ROM is just so buggy.

I was getting this behavior in CM7 when the /data/data partition got full. Try going into settings>manage applications and sort apps by size. Then go through and clear cache and data from the larger apps (be advised that clearing data will remove all the information stored for that app). You can look at the "low on space" thread in the support thread for more information on this issue.
