Help Problem with making/receving calls

I really hope that the update fixes this issue (as well as the power off issue). Even though this issue is the only one that had become a problem, the rest of the phone has been absolutely fantastic for my needs, so if the update does in fact fix it...I think I'm set on this phone and I may even keep it for 2 years (although I might end up eating those words a year from now because I said the same thing about the EVO 4G).

Hey!! I googled this issue when i got my phone last Tuesday the 16th and i started having the "Silent call" issue the next day.... then i realized it was an issue and googled it for support and found this forum... I also called Motorola/Droid tech support and haggled them about having a sense of urgency about the matter, that it was terrible promo for the company and such a new phone that IMO even with the issue seems to be a very attractive powerhouse.... I had told them various scenarios that people could face such as emergencies as to why they should make getting this issue resolved an urgent one......

So yea iv'e been lurking, i had this thread bookmarked and have been waiting till the day someone broke out about the update! I guess it's here? Im super excited!!!! LETS HOPE THIS WORKS AND SOLVES OUR ANNOYING SILENT CALL ISSUE!!!! :D

Oh I mistakenly thought you still HAD the issue. my bad!

Hahaha...all good. Nope, no issue at all. I never really had the issue until the past few days it started popping up more often than not. I was trying to keep track of the scenarios where it would happen (what I was doing with the phone prior, what sound volume level, etc., etc.), so I could figure out what might be causing it, but all the scenarios were different.

That's why I've been happy, so far, with the fix because I've been talking on my phone more than I had the past few days that I started to experience the issue more often. Even asking my friends if they actually answered the phone when I called and if they could hear me (which their answers were, "no, so I called you back, but it went straight to voicemail."...and it went straight to voicemail because I was restarting the phone during those scenarios).

I've been testing the phone in the morning (test calls to work phone and from work phone) and night (having friends call me while my phone is in the car dock, playing music...when I get home and take the phone off the car dock...calling them, while the phone is on vibrate mode or silent mode). More calls than my "standard" amount (I prefer emails and texts). Every call has been great.

Two days after the update and no issues. The phone seems to lag a little bit coming off the lock screen but I also went a little app crazy in the last 2 days, so that very well could be it.
Nah, the update caused a delay in the response time for the screen to come on. Kinda bites...a little annoying. I also had a little lag in a couple of menus and my keyboard, but that was just fora little while. A restart fixed it. Hasn't happened again

But glad no call issues.

.... I've experienced one little issue two times which may be due to a hardware issue on my phone itself. While talking on my phone through my car's BT system this morning on my way to work, the BT just shut off for no apparent reason. This is the second time it's happened, with the first being yesterday morning. I'm going to closely monitor this and if it happens again, I'll likely exchange it as soon as possible since I really do like this phone.

Other than that, the phone's been great and I'm actually a bit surprised since I was coming from the EVO, I was truly a loyal HTC guy. But the 3D thing didn't really do it for me. Moreover, I really didn't think that Moto could pull it off but in my opinion, THIS phone seems like the worthy successor to the original EVO than the 3D version, except it's not a HTC device and doesn't have Sense. ;)

I think you had mentioned this somewhere else too. What kind of bluetooth again?

if you browse the Motorola forum, then yes, I posted about this issue there

The BT is the factory one in my gmc Acadia

I see, so it's trouble with car bluetooth integration. I haven't had that type of issue talking on my jawbone icon.

If I were you, I wouldn't chance it and just get a replacement (in the event it is a hardware issue).
