Root [ROM] Black ROM Rooted - [OP] Updated 9/16 2:10pm

Just installed the blue version on top of the red one and everything works great. I like it a lot better. Thanks!

No Problem. A gingerbread flavor will be coming soon and all the menus (all ROMs) will be black as well but this will take a little time. It's hard to find all the text color changes in the code.

Great looking rom so far!

Question - not to hijack the thread or anything, but can you tell me what file/files control the lockscreen? -- the text color and the transparency on the lockscreen specifically.

Also, which are the icons used on the lockscreen?

I suppose I could just take your themed versions of the power menu mod apart and try doing a compare to see what was different, but I figured asking was easier and quicker. :)

TIA!

Edit: NM. I figured it out.

Thanks for the tip, but I`ve been running that since it first hit. I`ve tried both oddball versions. I even tried the regular version with oddball kernel flash over top of it... no cigar.

You Guys having problems, the one thing you may want to check is that you are using the right CWM they are around 6 of them out in the wild. You need 4.0.1.4 with the Orange type. Try the one in this Link

If that is the CWM you are using then the next step would be to see if you can flash the stock backup from that link. If it does flash ok then I would go back in to CWM with the new stock rom installed and format system then see if you can flash one of the Black roms, if the first does not boot re-flash back to the stock rom. And format system one more time and see if the oddball one works. I know it's a lot of work but it's the only way to first see if CWM is working and also give you as clean a system as can be for the black rom.

As for me on every rom I play with. I do the same thing flash to stock format system then flash the one I wont to use. and I have had not one problem. Back in the old days it was a must to do it that way and you also had to reinstall every app just to keep form having odd problems down the road.

I forgot to say make sure you have a backup and clear your cache for each steep.

I have the right recovery, and I havent had the slightest hint of a trouble flashing anything else, I just flashed b_randons tweak zip. I tried wiping system (along with both caches) and it had no change. So far I have tried both oddball and regular for all the flash methods to no avail.

I downloaded this rom and it looks stunning but after i installed I downloaded setcpu and to my suprise it says that superuser permission was not setup I checked and found out my root has been unrooted. Is this normal? Also i noticed it takes a little bit longer now for phone to boot from restart

Check OP this ROM is un-rooted and it wipes your /system so yes it will remove root access and you will have to re-root

Dude if you could get a gingerbread theme out i would thank you so much! Im no good a going from a light theme to a dark theme mainly cause I don't know which all text colors I have to edit, and like I dont know how to get the menu to go from white background to black! I can decompile .dex files and i know how to use smali and baksmali I just dont know what I'm looking for!

Gingerbread theme will be delayed hitting brick walls trying to decompile/recompile any version of the framework for the triumph. get errors every time i think i screwed up something w/ java on my linux box and don't know what. Till then can't get the menu text changed for black menus. So... patience please Sorry

Try using apk manager and then optimize the pngs... also could you post the error log?
